Head of Bid Management
What does a successful Head of Bid Management, EMEA do?
A successful Head of Bid Management, EMEA at Fiserv leads the regional bid management function, ensuring the business delivers high-quality, compliant and compelling proposals that support growth across the region.
This role sits at the centre of complex sales activity, partnering closely with Sales, Product, Delivery, Legal, Finance and other key stakeholders to shape winning responses for strategic opportunities. It is responsible not only for leading major bids, but also for building the bid management capability across EMEA, driving consistency, governance, process improvement and high performance across the team.
Success in this role comes from combining strong bid leadership, commercial judgement, stakeholder management and operational discipline, while creating a scalable bid function that helps the business win more effectively.
What you will do:
- Lead the EMEA Bid Management function, setting direction, standards and priorities across the region
- Own the end-to-end bid management approach for strategic opportunities, from qualification through submission and handover
- Build, lead and develop a high-performing regional bid team
- Establish clear governance, processes, templates and quality standards for bid activity across EMEA
- Chair the Deal Governance process, including qualification, solution and commercial reviews, challenging proposals and ensuring decision-ready submissions
- Prepare Sales teams to present clear, decision-ready proposals with alignment on solution, commercial position, risks and required approvals
- Partner with Sales, Product, Delivery, Legal and Finance to ensure proposals are compelling, compliant and commercially sound
- Oversee timelines, approval gates, deliverables and review processes to ensure high-quality submissions are delivered on time
- Challenge and strengthen solution, pricing and commercial inputs through the customer lens
- Support the development of win themes, deal storyboards, value propositions and competitor positioning
- Drive continuous improvement across bid content, proposal libraries, tools and ways of working
- Create strong alignment between bid management and wider sales operations, ensuring effective handover into delivery
- Provide leadership on strategic bids and executive-level support for high-value opportunities
- Track performance, lessons learned and success metrics to improve win rates and bid quality over time
What you will need to have :
- Significant experience in bid management, proposal management or pre-sales leadership
- Proven success leading complex RFP, RFI and proposal activity in a matrixed environment
- Experience managing and developing teams
- Strong ability to influence senior stakeholders across Sales, Product, Delivery, Legal and Finance
- Excellent written, verbal and editorial skills, with strong attention to detail
- Strong organisational and operational skills, with the ability to manage multiple high-value opportunities and priorities
- Experience establishing or improving bid governance, processes and content standards
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to shape compelling deal narratives
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and proposal management / CRM tools
- Hands-on experience with RFP response tools is essential
What would be great to have:
- APMP qualification
- Experience in payments, fintech or financial services
- Experience leading regional or global bid teams
- Experience authoring both technical and commercial proposal content
- Familiarity with pricing reviews, legal reviews and contract handover processes
- Experience working across EMEA and with distributed teams
- Experience with AI tools, particularly the use of AI in RFP and proposal responses
