Turner Industries Group has an opening for an Administrative Support Assistant to join our team in the Pass Christian, MS area. This position provides administrative and secretarial support for the department. Non-exempt role; Reports to a Department Supervisor / Manager; Performs a variety of routine duties within established policies.

Essential Qualifications:

- High school or equivalent

- Minimum two (2) years of experience or equivalent combinations of experience and training

- Must have experience in Microsoft Word and Excel

- Must possess the following competencies: Technical Capacity, Personal Effectiveness/Credibility, Attention to Detail, Collaboration Skills, Communication Proficiency, Flexibility, Time Management, and Ability to Prioritize Assignments

- Post offer drug / alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the company Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy

- Comply with company and client job site safety requirements

- Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Functional Requirements:

Schedules and organizes complex activities such as meetings, travel, conferences and department activities for all members of the department, Performs desktop publishing, Creates and develops visual presentations, Establishes, develops, maintains and updates the filing system for the department, Retrieves information from files when needed, Establishes, develops, maintains and updates library of trade journals and magazines, Organizes and prioritizes large volumes of information and calls, Sorts and distributes mail, Drafts written responses or replies by phone or email when necessary, Responds to regularly occurring requests for information, Answers phones, takes messages or fields/answers all routine and non-routine questions, Acts as a liaison with other departments and outside agencies, including high-level staff such as CEOs, presidents, senior vice presidents and chiefs, Handles confidential and non-routine information and explains policies when necessary, Works independently and within a team on special nonrecurring and ongoing projects, Acts as project coordinator for special projects, which may include: planning and coordinating multiple presentations, disseminating information, coordinating direct mailings and creating brochures, Types and designs general correspondences, memos, charts, tables, graphs, business plans, etc., Proofreads copy for spelling, grammar and layout, making appropriate changes, Responsible for accuracy and clarity of final copy, Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction

Compensation

Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.

Physical Involvement:

This job operates in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. Employee may be required to do the following: reaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials; standing; sitting; walking; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction; following set procedures and standards; applying basic mathematical skills; ability to recognize and report safety hazards.
