About this role
We are seeking a skilled and licensed Plumber/Pipefitter to join our Facilities team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of steam, hot water, heating, plumbing, and drainage systems across campus buildings and grounds. This is a hands-on, trade-skilled position that plays a vital role in keeping our campus infrastructure safe, functional, and efficient.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform work requiring skills in the trade for the installation, maintenance and repair of steam, hot water, heating, plumbing, and drainage systems in buildings and grounds on campus.
- Report under on-call emergency call-back rotation with other trades maintenance personnel as required; may supervise student workers, other related duties as assigned.
- Correct openings in walls and floors in order to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings; repair, install and replace plumbing fixtures; assemble and install valves, pipefitting, and pipes.
- Use appropriate equipment to clear, thaw, drain and unplug stopped or blocked plumbing system.
- Maintain and service equipment used in performance of duties; ability to perform brazing, cutting, threading, bending and other normal plumbing and pipefitting techniques using appropriate tools and methods.
Requirements:
Minimum Education & Experience:
- Technical or vocational school graduation or equivalent apprenticeship
- New Hampshire State Plumber’s journeyman license
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Knowledge of applicable plumbing codes and ordinances
- Knowledge of methods, tools, and hazards of the trade; valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
- Demonstrated customer service skills
- Ability in teamwork
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the general public and be able to work effectively both as a team member and independently on projects with limited supervision.
- Position involves heavy lifting, working in a variety of workplace conditions and ability to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment as necessary.
- Post offer, pre-employment physical exam also required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of KSC campus or other college/university settings, additional experience beyond minimum.

Compensation Pay Range:
$20.98 - $34.68
