About this role

The Role

You are a curious, craft-driven designer passionate about creating thoughtful, impactful work.

Working as part of a dedicated creative team for one of the world's leading technology brands, you'll help bring ambitious ideas to life at the intersection of design, technology, and AI. You're a strong visual thinker with a keen eye for detail, a solid foundation in design principles, and an appetite for experimentation.

You'll work closely with senior designers and creative leadership, helping shape and evolve the creative expression of a globally recognized, AI-driven brand. From exploring new ideas to bringing them to life across digital-first experiences and campaigns, you'll play an important role in delivering consistent, beautifully crafted work. You're comfortable working within an established creative direction, contributing your own perspective, and continually developing your craft.

Your Responsibilities

- Contribute fresh ideas and creative thinking, working closely with senior designers and creative leadership to explore concepts and bring them to life.
- Create thoughtful, well-crafted design work across typography, color, composition, imagery, and visual systems, with strong attention to detail.
- Translate creative direction into compelling design work, experimenting with different approaches and incorporating feedback to strengthen the outcome.
- Work within an established brand identity, helping apply, adapt, and evolve its visual language across campaigns, digital experiences, and other creative touchpoints.
- Collaborate closely with Design, Strategy, and Client Services, contributing to creative discussions, sharing ideas, and supporting the wider team.
- Support the development of clear, compelling presentations that communicate creative ideas and design thinking.
- Explore emerging technologies, generative AI tools, and new creative workflows to support ideation, experimentation, and execution, while maintaining a strong commitment to craft.
- Take ownership of assigned deliverables, actively seek feedback, and continue developing your conceptual thinking, technical skills, and creative judgment.
- Manage day-to-day priorities and timelines effectively, communicate proactively, and adapt to the needs of a fast-moving creative environment.
- Bring curiosity, a collaborative spirit, and a willingness to learn, contributing to a positive, ambitious, and high-performing studio culture.

About You

- You have approximately 4–6 years of experience in a creative studio, agency, or similarly design-led environment.
- You have a strong portfolio demonstrating excellent visual craft, conceptual thinking, and experience working with brand identities and design systems.
- You're confident in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma, with a strong understanding of typography, layout, composition, and digital design principles.
- You have experience applying and adapting visual identities across digital platforms, campaigns, and other brand touchpoints.
- You're curious about generative AI and emerging creative technologies, and you enjoy experimenting with new tools and incorporating them into your design process.
- You're comfortable receiving creative direction, responding to feedback, and collaborating with designers at different experience levels.
- You're adaptable, detail-oriented, and energized by working on a fast-moving, evolving brand.

Our Responsibilities

- We will ensure you have meaningful and regular access to your manager to support your personal development and career trajectory.
- We will actively reward performance with promotions, pay increases, and a discretionary annual bonus of up to 10% of salary to all employees.
- We ensure Koto is an equal environment for all its employees.
- We will support you in taking family leave and offer significant paid maternity and paternity.
- We actively encourage you to take 25 vacation days per year, plus US national holidays (on average 10) and a studio closure between Christmas and New Year.
- We offer a 401(k) plan you can contribute to, and Koto matches up to 4%.
- We provide a monthly $ 105 employee wellness benefits package through Juno.
- We offer YCN access and fund relevant training opportunities for any employee looking to develop themselves and their career.
- We reward five years of service with $5,000 and five days' holiday. We reward ten years of service with $10,000 and four weeks' holiday.
- We will give you the opportunity to work from any of the five Koto studios globally, with appropriate planning and application.

Our Culture

- At Koto, we encourage our team to be ‘rationally optimistic’ about the potential of our work, our clients, their businesses, and the power of brand.
- We pursue the best briefs, want to inspire meaningful work, and, for those interested, provide an opportunity to make the work of their lives. We are actively cultivating leadership, culture, and spaces to encourage this.
- We work in person with an optional WFH day on Friday and an additional 2 weeks of remote work per year. We believe this produces the best work, mentoring opportunities, collective learning, and culture.
- We encourage autonomy, allowing team members to manage their time, hours, and personal commitments to complete their work.
