We help clients achieve compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) through the preparation or review of Environmental Impact Statements (EISs) and Environmental Assessments (EAs) for projects nationwide. We also help clients with environmental compliance, permitting, and siting for their projects. To support our growth, ICF is seeking an Environmental Planner to work remotely, with a preference for staff to be located in Florida or the Eastern United States (east of the Mississippi River). Staff may work remotely and have the option to work from one of our offices such as the Tallahassee, FL office. This position will support clients’ NEPA compliance for a variety of project types including but not limited to: energy (mining, transmission, renewables), disaster management environmental services, and transportation.

What you will do:

An Environmental Planner works on multiple projects, interacts with all levels of staff, and will apply their academic and past work experience to a wide variety of complex projects. You will work directly with clients and senior staff, as well as internal and external experts in their field of expertise. You will be responsible for assisting in the planning and completing major project tasks related to the development and delivery of accurate, timely, and high-quality products and services. You may provide a range of services including:

- Develop written materials and analyses for EAs or EISs or categorical exclusions
- Support meetings with clients or other stakeholders (preparing agendas and meeting summaries)

- Support federal, state, and local permitting and compliance for traditional and renewable energy, transmission, land use planning, and other projects in compliance with NEPA and other regulations

- Review NEPA documents prepared by the applicant’s contractor

- Review environmental components of applications
- Support the Project Management team

What you need to have (Minimum Qualifications):

- Bachelor’s Degree in natural or physical science, urban planning, public policy, economics, environmental management or related subjects
- 2+ years of relevant professional experience

What we would like you to have (preferred experience):

- Experience leading or supporting project management teams
- Experience with NEPA projects for Transportation and Energy projects
- Experience with NEPA and other environmental compliance related to FEMA or HUD projects such as Tier 1 and Tier 2 environmental reviews.
- Ability to conduct site visits in support of environmental reviews.

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, including ability to prioritize and multi-task under strict deadlines
- Strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to succeed with new and challenging tasks
- Setting challenging, measurable and sustainable goals in collaboration with manager(s)
- Working collaboratively with project teams and clients to achieve established goals

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is :
$61,232.00 - $104,094.00
