Job Summary:

Join a team helping deliver some of the Department of Energy's most critical environmental cleanup and infrastructure projects.

Acuity-PT&C is seeking experienced and motivated Cost Estimator/Cost Analyst Professional to support the U.S. Department of Energy at the Hanford Site. Whether your expertise is in cost estimating, acquisition support, earned value management, scheduling, or project performance analysis, you'll have the opportunity to work on complex, high-value projects that make a lasting impact.

At Acuity, you'll work alongside industry professionals supporting DOE's mission while developing solutions that improve project performance, strengthen cost management, and support informed decision-making.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Depending on your experience and area of expertise, responsibilities may include:

Cost Estimating

- Develop Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs) for capital asset, design-build, and infrastructure projects.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and develop labor, material, subcontract, and equipment cost estimates.
- Analyze project scope, drawings, and technical documentation to develop defensible cost estimates.
- Lead estimate development efforts and coordinate with project stakeholders.

Cost Analysis

- Evaluate contractor proposals for cost reasonableness, realism, and compliance with acquisition requirements.
- Analyze direct and indirect cost elements.
- Compile, interpret, and communicate complex financial and cost data.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to support contract and project decisions.

Qualifications:

- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline. Equivalent experience may be considered.
- 5 years of experience in cost estimating, cost analysis, project controls, scheduling or construction management
- Professional certifications such as PMP, CCP, EVP, PSP, or similar are desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, data analysis, and pivot tables.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work effectively with project teams, technical experts, and senior leadership.
- A proactive mindset and the ability to thrive in a dynamic project environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Cost estimating, cost analysis, project controls, scheduling, EVMS, construction management, engineering, or related disciplines.
- Experience with Primavera P6, MII, or similar estimating and project controls software.
- DOE, federal government, or major capital project experience.
- Hanford experience is a plus, but not required.

Physical Requirements and Work Conditions:

- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
- Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
