What this job involves:

As a Mechanical Technician at JLL, you'll be at the heart of keeping critical building systems running smoothly and efficiently. This hands-on role involves performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical equipment, and responding to service requests across HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, pumps, and other essential infrastructure. You'll work collaboratively with facility management teams and fellow technicians to ensure optimal performance and reliability of mechanical systems while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. What your day-to-day will look like:

- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, and related mechanical equipment
- Diagnose and repair mechanical system failures using diagnostic tools, technical manuals, and hands-on troubleshooting techniques
- Respond promptly to building occupant service requests and emergency repair calls to minimize downtime and maintain comfort
- Monitor building automation systems (BAS) and adjust equipment settings to optimize performance and energy efficiency
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and equipment documentation using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
- Collaborate with engineering teams, contractors, and vendors to coordinate major repairs, installations, and system upgrades
- Conduct routine inspections of mechanical rooms, equipment, and building systems to identify potential issues before they escalate
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, building codes, and JLL's standards for quality and environmental stewardship

Physical Demands and Work Environment

- May require working in various environments, including indoor settings, cleanrooms, and pharmaceutical production areas
- Occasional exposure to noise, dust, and chemicals
- May involve working in confined spaces or at heights
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and materials (up to 50 lbs) is required
- Flexible schedule may be necessary, including evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts
- Must be comfortable wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required

Required qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent, with completion of a technical training program in HVAC, mechanical systems, or related field
- Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience maintaining and repairing commercial HVAC and mechanical building systems
- Working knowledge of boilers, chillers, air handling units, pumps, motors, and associated control systems
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and building automation system interfaces
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions

Preferred qualifications:

- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) such as Maximo, ServiceChannel, or similar platforms
- Experience working in corporate, healthcare, industrial, or large commercial facility environments
- Vocational training or associate degree in mechanical engineering, carpentry, or related field
- NICET Fire Alarm Systems certification
- Familiarity with cGMP guidelines and FDA regulations
- Experience with specialized pharmaceutical equipment
- Advanced computer skills for record-keeping and parts ordering
