Labor and Employee Relations Manager

The Labor and Employee Relations Manager UK provides employee relations guidance and case management support to associates, leaders, and HR partners. This role ensures employee relations matters are managed consistently, compliantly, and in accordance with company policies, procedures, and applicable employment laws.

The position manages a diverse caseload of employee relations matters and serves as a key liaison between the Life Sciences Platform, Operating Companies, works council and employee representative bodies and Danaher's Global Labor & Employee Relations Center of Excellence (COE), the Danaher Compliance Team and Danaher L&E Legal team if required.

What You'll Do

- Partner with HR and business leaders to provide guidance on employee relations matters and ensure consistent application of company policies, procedures, and employment legislation.
- Manage employee relations cases, including individual or collective workforce reduction activities as well as any operational and organizational changes requiring information and consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies.
- Own, conduct and support performance improvement processes, disciplinary actions, grievance hearings, and other associate-related matters, partnering with the Danaher LER COE
- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of employee relations policies, procedures, toolkits, and standard work.
- Act as the liaison with Danaher LER COE for the assigned Operating Company(ies) in the relevant jurisdiction(s) on LER matters and maintain employee relations case data and reporting, analyze trends, and identify opportunities to mitigate risk and improve organizational effectiveness.

Essential Requirements of the Job

- Bachelor's degree, Juris Doctor (J.D.), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 10+ years of experience in Labor and Employee Relations, Human Resources Business Partnering, Employment Law, or a related Human Resources discipline within the relevant jurisdiction(s).
- Experience managing employee relations cases, including investigations, performance management, disciplinary matters, grievances, and workforce reduction activities.
- Experience working in a unionized environment and/or with works councils and other employee representative bodies.
- Working knowledge of applicable employment laws and regulations within the relevant jurisdiction(s).
- Ability to travel up to 25%.

It Would Be A Plus If You Also Possess

- Experience supporting employee relations within a manufacturing environment.
- Advanced competency in preparing and negotiating collective / factory agreements consistent with country best practices
- Experience using employee relations case management systems and reporting tools.
