About this role
Overview
GTS is seeking a Senior DeFi Trading Systems Engineer to help build and scale our decentralized finance trading infrastructure. In this role, you will work closely with quantitative traders, researchers, and engineers to design, develop, and optimize high-performance trading systems supporting automated market making, liquidity provision, and on-chain execution across decentralized exchanges and protocols. The ideal candidate combines deep C++ engineering expertise with hands-on institutional DeFi experience and a strong understanding of smart contracts, AMM mechanics, and blockchain execution. This is an opportunity to solve complex technical challenges at the intersection of quantitative trading, low-latency systems, and decentralized markets, while directly contributing to the evolution of GTS's trading capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Build and extend the firm’s C++ trading infrastructure for DeFi, including automated trading, liquidity provision to AMMs, position management, and rebalancing, in coordination with traders, researchers, and engineers.
- Optimize system performance, build analytics for system reliability, trade reconciliation, transaction cost analysis (TCA), and risk monitoring within the firm’s existing frameworks
- Analyze on-chain transactions across DEXs, contract behavior, permissions, and execution requirements.
- Investigate and evaluate new protocols in collaboration with traders, researchers, and engineers.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of C++ programming experience in institutional systems.
- Previous institutional DeFi software-engineering experience, including building production DeFi market-making or other performance-sensitive systems.
- Strong understanding of AMMs, including pricing, liquidity ranges, position behavior, fees, and execution costs.
- Hands-on Solidity programming experience, with the ability to read, test, and debug smart contracts and reason about EVM execution, transaction failures, permissions, and upgrade mechanisms.
- Understanding of on-chain execution nuances such as transaction ordering and MEV related execution risks.
- Experience working with traders and researchers in translating systematic trading models into production-ready systems.
Preferred experience:
- Experience with other programming languages commonly used across the DeFi space (Rust, TypeScript/JavaScript, etc…) is a plus
- Previous experience working with Uniswap v4 and its architecture, including PoolManager, PositionManager, hooks, flash accounting, and liquidity positions.
- Experience with EVM-compatible ecosystems and L2 networks (Arbitrum, X Layer, HyperEVM, etc…).
- Experience supporting market-making, CEX/DEX arbitrage, cross-venue execution, or additional DeFi protocols such as lending, derivatives, and vaults.
- Experience with handling performance-critical RPC or node infrastructure, private transaction submission, bundles, or other chain-specific execution tooling.
- General experience developing smart contracts, participating in security reviews, or building execution-simulation and backtesting infrastructure
