X-Ray Technician / Radiologic Technologist

Reports To: Regional Manager / Clinical Leadership
Location: Multiple DOCS Medical Group Locations
Employment Status: Full-Time/Part-Time, based on operational needs

Position Summary

DOCS Medical Group is seeking a qualified and dependable X-Ray Technician / Radiologic Technologist to provide diagnostic imaging services across multiple urgent care locations.

This is a multi-site position , and the employee must be willing and able to travel between assigned DOCS Medical Group locations based on scheduling and operational needs.

The ideal candidate is flexible, patient-focused, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced urgent care environment while maintaining high standards of patient safety and image quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Radiology Responsibilities

- Perform diagnostic X-ray examinations as ordered by authorized providers.

- Position patients appropriately to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.

- Verify patient information and imaging orders before performing examinations.

- Follow proper radiation safety practices and use appropriate shielding and protective equipment.

- Maintain accurate patient and imaging documentation in the electronic medical record and/or imaging system.

- Ensure images are properly labeled, documented, and transmitted for interpretation.

- Follow established protocols for imaging procedures and quality control.

- Maintain X-ray equipment and promptly report equipment concerns or malfunctions.

- Maintain required X-ray supplies and notify appropriate leadership of inventory needs.

- Follow all applicable federal and Connecticut requirements related to radiologic imaging and radiation safety.

Patient Care

- Explain imaging procedures to patients and answer questions within the scope of the position.

- Verify relevant patient information before performing imaging procedures.

- Maintain patient privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.

- Assist providers and clinical staff with patient flow as appropriate and within the employee's training and scope of practice.

- Follow infection-control and safety procedures.

Multi-Site Coverage

- Travel between assigned DOCS Medical Group locations according to operational and scheduling needs.

- Provide X-ray coverage at different locations when needed due to staffing shortages, employee absences, scheduling needs, or changes in patient volume.

- Maintain flexibility regarding assigned work location.

- Communicate promptly with management regarding scheduling, coverage, equipment, or operational concerns.

- Work collaboratively with Site Managers, Regional Managers, providers, Medical Assistants, and other members of the clinical team.

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent required.

- Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program.

- Current Connecticut licensure/credentials required to perform diagnostic radiologic procedures.

- ARRT certification preferred or required based on position and applicable regulatory requirements.

- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred.

- Previous experience in urgent care, outpatient care, emergency medicine, or a similar fast-paced clinical environment preferred.

- Knowledge of radiation safety, patient positioning, and diagnostic imaging procedures.

- Ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication with providers and clinical leadership.

- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to adapt quickly to different locations, providers, teams, and patient volumes.

Travel and Scheduling Requirements

This position is specifically designed to provide coverage across multiple DOCS Medical Group locations.

The employee must:

- Have reliable transportation and the ability to travel between assigned locations.

- Be available to work at different locations based on business and patient-care needs.

- Understand that the assigned primary or scheduled location may change based on operational requirements.

- Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality at all assigned locations.

Physical Requirements

The employee must be able to:

- Stand and walk for extended periods.

- Assist with positioning and transferring patients when necessary.

- Move and operate radiologic equipment safely.

- Perform repetitive positioning and clinical tasks.

- Lift, push, pull, or assist with reasonable weights associated with patient care and radiology equipment, with assistance when appropriate.
