Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Hydrogeologist and Water Resources Engineer for employment in Mexico City, Mexico.

The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

- Assist in design activities including stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, roadway drainage, hydraulic and hydrologic analysis, utility coordination, site design and environmental permitting;
- Assist with the development of preliminary to final design calculations and drawings;
- Review field information and perform field inspection of existing stormwater facilities;
- Perform technical writing for design reports and permitting applications; and
- Utilize MicroStation, AutoCAD, HEC-RAS/HMS, and a variety of Civil Engineering design software applications.
- Performs GIS analyses to support engineering and technical services.
- Provides support to a diverse team of professionals in multiple offices throughout the country.
- Reviews and assesses hydrologic, hydraulic, and levee analysis and documentation.
- Performs quality assurance checks of hydrologic and hydraulic models, graphics and reports.
- Performs simple to intermediate engineering and hydraulic modeling tasks.
- Position requires that the candidate must be able to travel for agency/client meetings as well as field work.
- Assessing water and soil resources
- Understand groundwater flow models
- Under direction, performs various technical and administrative tasks related to groundwater investigation.
- Assignments may cover entire field of hydrology & hydrogeology or other technical disciplines, under specific terms and with frequent professional staff review.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Civil Engineering or other related Engineering field and  8+ years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- English/Spanish Proficiency

Preferred Qualifications:

- Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software;
- Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as CADD, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, HEC);
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Work experience with drainage, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, and hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and design;
- Experience with water resources design software (StormCAD, HydroCAD, Pondpak, HEC-RAS); and
- Master's degree in Geology, Civil Engineering or other related Engineering field.
