WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

Youth Volunteer Engagement Specialist will manage recruitment and engagement activities within the region:

•  Develop and implement broad-based recruitment strategies to attract and identify Red Cross volunteers to effectively support Regional goals and mission critical activities.

•  Support the implementation and execution of programs, projects and initiatives to increase and strengthen the engagement of volunteers.

•  Perform screenings, referrals, and placement of prospective volunteers to effectively support Regional goals and mission critical activities.

1: Contribute input and serve as a resource for Youth/Young Adult volunteer recruitment and engagement best practices. Empower youth volunteerism and leadership by building connections between youth and the Red Cross mission​. Implement , execut e and monitor Youth/Young adult volunteer engagement and retention strateg ies to include interaction with the volunteer community both personally and through the volunteer infrastructure.

2: Participate in the recruitment, onboarding, and support of regional Red Cross Clubs . Meet with stakeholders and ensure alignment of established goals to volunteer needs.

3: Develop and supervise volunteer teams to support Youth/Young Adult and Red Cross Club engagement

4 : Facilitate formal and informal Youth/Young Adult recognition efforts and events to promote community and honor the volunteer experience and contributions.

5. Other responsibilities as needed

Scope: Individual contributor that works under limited supervision. Applies subject matter knowledge; requires capacity to understand specific needs or requirements to apply skills/knowledge.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):

Bachelor's degree required. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of related experience.

Skills & Abilities: Ability to work on a team. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and presentation skills. Good organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple and continuously evolving priorities effectively. Intermediate proficiency with MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Knowledge of group dynamics, customer maintenance techniques, negotiation skills, and the ability to effectively implement programs is preferred. Knowledge of Youth/Young Adult volunteer programs preferred. Travel: Ability to travel around two state-region.

The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The work environment will consist of moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones and printers, light traffic). The employee must have the ability to work in a small cubicle and have the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
