Markets Data Risk, Vice President

Role Overview

The role sits within the Markets Data Risk organization and is responsible for driving strategic data transformation initiatives while supporting the design, implementation, and ongoing operation of Markets Data Risk control frameworks and governance processes.

The successful candidate will work across a broad portfolio of Markets Data Risk initiatives including trade population, trade attributes, market data, reference data, business hierarchy, product hierarchy, pricing environments, Critical Data Elements (CDEs), and Data Quality (DQ) controls. The role will partner closely with business, technology, risk, finance, and control stakeholders to deliver strategic improvements, operationalize control frameworks, and contribute to the target-state operating model for Markets Data Risk.

This position combines transformation execution, control framework development, governance coordination, operating model implementation, and stakeholder management. The role will support key regulatory and strategic initiatives while helping establish sustainable risk and control practices across Markets Data Risk.

What You'll Do

Strategic Data Transformation & Solution Delivery

- Support delivery of strategic Markets Data Risk initiatives across trade population, trade attributes, market data, reference data, business hierarchy, product hierarchy, and pricing environments.
- Coordinate workstreams supporting Markets Data Risk and Price Risk transformation objectives.
- Perform business analysis, data analysis, testing, implementation, and change management activities supporting strategic initiatives.
- Partner with business and technology stakeholders to gather requirements, document processes, and support target-state solution design.
- Assist in development of operating models, governance processes, and implementation approaches for new Markets Data Risk use cases.
- Identify delivery risks, issues, and dependencies, and support remediation and execution plans.
- Support implementation and transition of strategic initiatives into sustainable business-as-usual processes.

Data Quality, Controls & Governance

- Support implementation and enhancement of controls across Markets data domains, Critical Data Elements (CDEs), and Data Quality validations.
- Analyze end-to-end data flows to identify data quality issues, process weaknesses, and control gaps.
- Assist with development, documentation, and enhancement of control frameworks and assessment methodologies.
- Support control assessments, remediation efforts, and monitoring activities to improve control effectiveness and data quality outcomes.
- Maintain documentation, evidencing, and governance materials supporting regulatory and internal requirements.
- Monitor data quality metrics and provide reporting and analysis to support prioritization and risk-based decision making.
- Contribute to development of consistent governance and control practices across asset classes and regions.

Control Framework & Operating Model Support

- Support operation and ongoing enhancement of the Markets Data Risk control framework.
- Assist with implementation and operationalization of control oversight models supporting strategic data initiatives.
- Execute monitoring, governance, escalation, issue management, and reporting activities across key controls.
- Support implementation, testing, and effectiveness reviews of MCA-aligned controls.
- Participate in governance forums and working groups to address data quality, control, and remediation activities.
- Identify emerging risks and control deficiencies and support mitigation planning and execution.

Governance, Reporting & Executive Communications

- Prepare presentations, executive updates, governance materials, and program status reporting for senior management forums.
- Develop analysis, summaries, and narratives describing program achievements, risks, priorities, and remediation activities.
- Support management of control inventories, action tracking, issue reporting, and governance documentation.
- Coordinate meeting materials, agendas, decisions, and follow-up actions across governance forums and working groups.
- Contribute to consistent reporting standards and communication across Markets Data Risk initiatives.

Stakeholder Management & Delivery

- Partner with business, technology, risk, finance, operations, and control stakeholders to support delivery of strategic initiatives.
- Facilitate working sessions, requirements gathering, testing activities, and implementation efforts across multiple programs.
- Provide subject matter support on Markets data, controls, governance, and transformation activities.
- Drive accountability for agreed deliverables, milestones, and remediation actions.
- Contribute to onboarding, coaching, and development of junior team members where appropriate.

Process Improvement & Innovation

- Identify opportunities to improve team efficiency through automation, analytics, and AI-enabled solutions.
- Support implementation of tools and capabilities that improve reporting, knowledge sharing, and control execution.
- Promote continuous improvement across Markets Data Risk processes and governance practices.
- Contribute ideas to simplify workflows, improve transparency, and reduce operational risk.

Qualifications & Experience

- 6-10 years of experience in Markets data, data governance, controls, risk management, market risk, product control, valuation control, business management, COO functions, or related disciplines.
- Experience supporting strategic transformation initiatives, regulatory remediation programs, or enterprise data management projects within financial services.
- Strong understanding of Markets products, trade lifecycle processes, and associated data structures.
- Knowledge of trade population, market data, reference data, data lineage, data governance, data quality, and control frameworks.
- Experience designing, implementing, operating, or monitoring controls within a first- or second-line environment.
- Experience gathering requirements, documenting processes, and supporting implementation of technology-enabled solutions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience preparing materials for governance and management audiences.

What We'll Need From You

- Experience working with Markets data and data quality challenges across one or more asset classes.
- Understanding of how data supports risk management, regulatory compliance, financial reporting, and business decision-making.
- Experience analyzing data quality issues, control gaps, and remediation activities.
- Familiarity with governance disciplines, risk assessment methodologies, and control effectiveness reviews.
- Experience supporting cross-functional initiatives involving business and technology stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Technical Skills

- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint.
- SQL and data analysis skills.
- Tableau or equivalent visualization tools.
- Python or other analytical tooling.
- Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, and project delivery methodologies.
- Experience preparing reporting, governance, and executive-level presentations.

## Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:
$92,000.00 - $138,000.00
