Summary:  
The Machine Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and consistent operation of assigned production equipment to ensure products are manufactured in accordance with established quality, food safety, and production standards. The Machine Operator performs equipment setup, calibration, operational adjustments, routine cleaning, and ongoing monitoring to maintain required product specifications, quality, and production output. 
The Machine Operator is expected to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The position requires attention to detail, timely identification and reporting of equipment or product issues, and strict adherence to all company Health & Safety, Food Safety, Quality, GMP, sanitation, and operating procedures. The role also requires the ability to work safely in areas with elevated temperatures. 
 
Key Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to): 
- Follow the production schedule and work priorities established by the Production Supervisor.

- Inspect assigned equipment before and during operation for damage, missing components, abnormal conditions, or other concerns, and promptly report any issues to the Production Supervisor and/or Maintenance.

- Transfer prepared dough/batter from buggies into the machine hopper/extruder safely and in accordance with established operating procedures.

- Set up and calibrate equipment according to approved product specifications and monitor product weight, size, and other required parameters throughout production.

- Make authorized operating adjustments as required to maintain product specifications, quality standards, and efficient machine performance.

- Monitor equipment operation and promptly identify and report malfunctions, production interruptions, safety concerns, or abnormal operating conditions.

- Perform required quality checks for each product/batch to ensure finished products consistently meet established specifications and quality standards. Accurately document results as required.

- Maintain cleanliness of assigned equipment and surrounding work areas, including cleaning under and around equipment after each batch/buggy and removing waste in accordance with established procedures.

- Support sanitation activities by assisting with the cleaning of production equipment and production areas as required.

- Minimize product waste and support efficient use of materials by following established operating procedures and promptly addressing process deviations.

- Accurately complete required production, quality, downtime, and other operational documentation.

- Communicate effectively with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Sanitation, and other departments to support safe and efficient operations.

- Support other production areas, departments, and functions as required to meet operational needs.

- Comply at all times with company policies, procedures, work instructions, and programs, including GMP, Quality, Food Safety, Health & Safety, sanitation, and environmental requirements.

- Immediately report hazards, near misses, injuries, food safety concerns, product quality issues, and equipment defects in accordance with company procedures.

- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands 
- Weekend work and overtime may be required based on operational needs.

- Work is performed in a fast-paced food-manufacturing environment with exposure to hot and cold conditions.

- Ability to stand for extended periods and regularly bend, carry, lift, reach, and push/pull as required by the role.

- Ability to lift up to 50 lb.

- Push/pull demands may be up to 450 lb using appropriate equipment, assistance, and safe work practices, as applicable.

- Must be able to work safely around ovens, racks, freezers, moving equipment, and other production-area hazards.

Pay rate: $20/hr
