The Department of Biology at Northeastern University, Boston, Massachusetts invites applications from qualified candidates for a full-time, non-tenure track (NTT) faculty position at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor with significant opportunity for career advancement.
Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of this role are to teach multiple lecture sections of undergraduate courses, including Integrated Human Anatomy & Physiology and Inquiries in the Biological Sciences , and to design and implement research-based revisions to assigned courses. Additional duties may involve coordination with other instructors, organization of laboratory curricula, and additional teaching and course development. NTT faculty with appointments in Biology are expected to teach five courses per year, some of which may occur in summer, and provide one equivalent unit of service to the Department/College/University. Qualified candidates must be prepared to work with global student populations.
Qualifications:
- Applicants must have a Ph.D. in the biological sciences or other closely related discipline prior to the start of the appointment
- Experience teaching undergraduate lecture courses
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills
- Experience in teaching Anatomy and Physiology, and course and/or laboratory curriculum development is preferred
- The position requires strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team while engaging effectively with faculty, students, and administrative staff

Pay Range:
Assistant Teaching Professor: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00
With the pay range(s) shown above, the starting salary will depend on several factors, which may include your education, experience, location, knowledge and expertise, and skills as well as a pay comparison to similarly-situated employees already in the role. Salary ranges are reviewed regularly and are subject to change.
