About the Role:
We’re looking for a Research Associate on the San Diego Research and Development team to help us expand what’s possible for patients with serious diseases. Reporting to the Senior Director, Research Gene Therapy, you’ll support gene therapy development through molecular biology, protein analysis, cell culture, sterile technique, and transfection.
What You'll Do:
In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to expand molecular and product specific assay development working with the Gene Therapy Research and Development team. You’ll also do:
- Molecular biology (cloning, restriction digests) under the supervision of a senior scientist
- Protein science, including western blot
- Cell culture, sterile technique, and transfection
Who You Are:
You have a Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or related field.
You are or you also have:
- General cellular and molecular biology proficiency (including experience with PCR and Western Blot)
- Excellent communication skills with ability to interact professionally with colleagues and present research results in written reports and team presentations
- Willingness to learn new techniques and train other laboratory staff in technical matters
- Entrepreneurial spirit, with strong willingness to take on new challenges to bring novel medicines to the clinic
- Strict adherence to environmental, health, and safety guidelines
Nice to have (but not required):
- Histology, cloning, general mammalian cell culture, transfection and familiarity with in vivo rodent models
Where You’ll Work
This role is based out of our San Deigo, CA office and requires full-time, in-person presence to support hands-on collaboration, access specialized equipment, and/or operational needs.

Pay Range:
$80,000.00-102,000.00 Annual
