# Patient Care Technician (PCT) / Administrative Assistant
DaVita is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) with secondary administrative responsibilities. In this role, your primary focus will be providing direct, compassionate dialysis treatments to patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) and chronic kidney disease in clinical and Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) settings. In addition to clinical care, you will provide essential administrative support to keep facility operations organized and compliant.
Position Overview
As a PCT with administrative responsibilities, you will be on the front lines of patient care, delivering life-sustaining dialysis treatment under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). When not delivering direct bedside care, you will assist the team with day-to-day administrative functions, documentation, scheduling, and coordination.
The position is based out of 300 Plaza Dr, Cold Spring, KY, 41076 and the individual will be expected to work at additional locations as needed which include Maysville and Louisville.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Clinical Responsibilities (Patient Care Technician)
- ## Deliver direct dialysis care on-site in Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs) and clinical settings under RN supervision.
- ## Prepare, operate, and disinfect dialysis machines and equipment.
- ## Monitor patient vital signs, assess status throughout treatment, and document clinical details accurately in treatment logs and medical records.
- ## Manage cannulation, needles, bloodlines, and safe mixing of dialysis solutions.
- ## Adhere strictly to infection control standards and sterile field maintenance protocols.
- ## Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, kidney health, and daily care regimens.
- ## Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team (Registered Nurses, Nephrologists, Dietitians, and Social Workers) to optimize patient outcomes.
Secondary Administrative Responsibilities
- ## Ensure the timely and accurate completion of change requisitions, treatment logs, patient charts, invoices, and purchase orders.
- ## Assist patients with scheduling, transportation arrangements, and physician appointments.
- ## Provide clerical and front-desk support using Microsoft Office and internal DaVita record systems.
- ## Support facility inventory tracking and administrative workflow coordination.

Qualifications and Requiremen ts
- ## Accredited High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED) credential, or equivalent.
- ## CMS-approved Patient Care Technician (PCT) certification (or ability/eligibility to obtain per state and CMS guidelines).
- ## Comfort with direct patient contact, blood, needles, and mixing dialysis solutions.
- ## Physical ability to work on your feet for extended periods (such as 12+ hour shifts).
- ## Strong computer and clerical skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- ## Typing proficiency of 60 WPM.
- ## Flexibility to work varied schedules (mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays) and willingness to float to different facilities or SNFs as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- ## Prior healthcare experience or relevant certifications: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), or BONENT certification.
- ## Previous experience in an outpatient clinic, dialysis setting, or hospital environment.
- ## Prior administrative experience in medical records, patient intake, or clinical scheduling.
