What you will do

In this role, you’ll support the accurate and efficient execution of the derivative trade lifecycle, supporting investment teams, clients, and counterparties through trade validation, settlement, collateral management, and operational oversight. By maintaining strong controls, resolving exceptions, and driving process improvements, the role contributes to operational excellence, risk mitigation, and the integrity of investment operations across complex derivative products.

This position is based in our office in Newark, NJ and will follow a hybrid schedule. Our organization follows a hybrid work structure ( 3 days in office) where employees can work remotely and/ from the office, as needed, based on demands of specific tasks or personal work preferences. Working from the office is encouraged when working on tasks that require a high degree of collaboration.

What you can expect

- Support the end-to-end operational lifecycle of derivative products, including trade validation, confirmations, settlements, clearing, lifecycle events, and exception management.
- Validate and maintain derivative trade activity in Aladdin and related platforms, ensuring accurate books and records, positions, and downstream operational data.
- Process and monitor derivative settlements, collateral movements, margin activity, cash interest, and related payment workflows in accordance with established controls.
- Perform daily reconciliations with executing brokers, clearing brokers, custodians, and internal systems to identify, research, and resolve trade, cash, position, and commission breaks.
- Partner with internal teams and external counterparties to resolve operational exceptions, settlement issues, collateral disputes, and trade lifecycle inquiries.
- Maintain strong operational controls by following documented procedures, completing daily checklists, escalating issues timely, and supporting audit or risk management requests.
- Prepare recurring and ad hoc reporting related to derivative activity, reconciliations, exceptions, fails, and operational performance metrics.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, increase automation, reduce manual touchpoints, and strengthen scalability across derivative operations processes.

What you will bring

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field preferred; all majors considered.
- 4–7 years of experience in investment operations, trade support, settlements, collateral management, derivatives operations, or a related financial services environment.
- Knowledge of post-trade operational processes, including trade support, settlements, reconciliations, cash processing, and operational controls.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate exceptions, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
- Experience working collaboratively with internal teams and external counterparties in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to maintaining accurate books, records, and operational controls.
- Intermediate or advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

What will set you apart?

- Experience supporting derivative products such as swaps, futures, options, FX forwards, cleared derivatives, or bilateral OTC instruments.
- Experience with Aladdin or other investment operations platforms.
- Knowledge of derivative confirmations, clearing, settlement, collateral, margin, or reconciliation processes.
- Familiarity with broker-dealers, custodians, clearing merchants, fund administrators, regulatory requirements, and operational risk frameworks within a derivatives environment.

Note : Prudential is required by state-specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $100,000 to $120,000. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
