About this role

POSITION SUMMARY:

This newly created role supports the Food Services Manager in overseeing daily food service operations across all locations. The position ensures food safety, quality, inventory control, meal distribution, staff coaching, equipment maintenance and compliance with company standards and applicable regulations. The role is hands-on and requires strong organizational, cooking and food safety skills.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

- Accountable for the daily operation of food distribution and confirmation across multiple locations.

- Coordinate food ordering, inventory and storage .

- Ensure meals are prepared, portioned, and distributed according to menus, recipes, dietary requirements, and quality standards.

- Maintain and monitor
food menus or rotation , recipes, training manuals, logs , food safety and other compliance logs .

- Monitor food waste, product expiry, inventory levels and cost control.

- Monitor kitchen and food service equipment , report damage, repairs and maintenance needs.

- Recognize and report food safety, quality, equipment and operational concerns promptly.

- Communicate effectively with staff, suppliers and management.

- Assist with meal preparation and cooking as required .

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

- Diploma or degree in Food Service Management, Hospitality Management, Culinary Management or a related field.

- At least 2–3 years of experience with strong knowledge in food safety, food handling and sanitation practices.

- Food Handler Certificate.

- Experience with ordering, inventory, scheduling and purchasing.

- Good practical cooking skills and knowledge of Canadian food preparation.

- Ability to recognize food quality issues, spoilage, food safety risks, and cross-contamination concerns.

- Strong organizational, communication and follow-through skills.

- Ability to work independently, effectively and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.

- Ability to work with multiple locations

- Flexible to work in different locations

- Microsoft Office and food service or inventory system experience.

- Physical Requirement:

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

- Ability to lift, carry, bend, reach and move food supplies and equipment safely.

- Ability to work in a busy kitchen and food service environment.

- Ability to perform hands-on food preparation, cleaning, stocking and service duties.

Other Important Requirements

- Proof of legal eligibility to work in Canada will be required as part of the recruitment and onboarding process

- Valid Manitoba Driver's License with a satisfactory driver's abstract is required.

- Use of a safe vehicle for work purposes

- Current Food Handler Certificate is required.

- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search

- Adult Abuse Registry Check

- Child Abuse Registry Check

- Current CPR and First Aid certification
