SAP Cost Allocation & Financial Systems Analyst

Your role in our success:

The SAP Cost Allocation, Project Accounting Analyst, and Financial System Administrator is responsible for (a) the maintenance, administration, and governance of cost allocation methodologies and processes, (b) allocation master data, (c) project system Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) hierarchies within the SAP S/4HANA environment, and (d) maintenance of security roles and permissions within the financial systems. This position serves as the primary business owner for allocation methodologies, statistical key figures (SKF), project accounting structures, and related master data used for financial reporting, budgeting, regulatory compliance, and management reporting.

Working closely with Finance, Accounting, Regulatory Affairs, Financial Planning & Analysis, Information Technology, and Business stakeholders to ensure allocation structures accurately reflect organizational and cost allocation changes, business reorganizations, acquisitions, and regulatory requirements. The position supports financial reporting integrity, regulatory compliance, and management decision-making within a highly regulated utility environment. This position serves as the primary owner of SAP S/4HANA cost allocation processes and is responsible for ensuring that allocation methodologies remain accurate, compliant, transparent, and aligned with organizational and regulatory requirements.

What you'll be working on:

- Own and administer SAP S/4HANA cost allocation methodologies, allocation cycles, and related governance processes.

- Calculate, validate, and monitor allocation drivers, allocation percentages, and allocation results to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance.

- Analyze and implement allocation changes resulting from organizational restructures, acquisitions, divestitures, and business process changes.

- Serve as the primary business owner for Statistical Key Figures (SKF), ensuring data integrity, maintenance, and governance of allocation drivers.

- Create, maintain, and govern SAP Project System (PS) Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) hierarchies, project templates, and related master data.

- Manage project accounting structures, settlement rules, cost center assignments, profit center assignments, and project closeout activities.

- Perform annual employee labor rate calculations and updates supporting cost allocations, budgeting, and internal charging processes.

- Coordinate and assess allocation impacts resulting from cost center, profit center, organizational hierarchy, and master data changes.

- Partner with Finance, Accounting, FP&A, Regulatory Affairs, Human Resources, IT, and operational stakeholders to support allocation and financial system requirements.

- Support regulatory compliance by ensuring allocation methodologies align with FERC guidance, regulatory requirements, accounting standards, and company policies.

- Prepare and maintain documentation, business rules, controls, and audit support materials for allocation methodologies, financial systems, and project accounting processes.

- Perform reconciliations, variance analyses, and validation of allocated costs, allocation drivers, labor rates, and project accounting transactions.

- Administer financial systems including SAP S/4HANA and related financial applications, including user access, security roles, issue resolution, and system support.

- Lead testing, validation, and implementation activities for system upgrades, enhancements, patches, and finance transformation initiatives.

Who you are:

- Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, computer science, or a related field; Master of Business Administration preferred.

- Work Experience: Five (5) years of progressive accounting, cost accounting, controlling, or financial analysis experience. Three (3) years of direct experience supporting SAP Controlling (CO) processes, preferably within SAP S/4HANA.

- Preferred Experience:

Experience supporting regulated accounting and regulatory reporting requirements.

- Experience supporting regulatory audits, rate cases, or cost-of-service studies preferred.

- Experience with Cost Center Accounting (CCA), Profit Center Accounting (PCA), Assessments and Distributions, Statistical Key Figures, Internal Orders, Allocation Cycles, and Cost Center and Profit Center Hierarchies.

- Experience with SAP reporting and financial analytics tools.

- Driver's License: Standard.

- Licensure/Certification: CPA, CMA, or other relevant professional certification preferred
