# Position Summary
As a part of a multidisciplinary team, this clinical audiology coordinator position will provide high-quality service and coordination throughout the continuum of care to both adult and pediatric patients within the Cochlear Implant and Osseointegrated Program; serves as a clinical resource in these areas of expertise.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

- Provides direct patient care at various Otolaryngology clinics that includes assessment of needs and abilities, planning, implementation and evaluation, observations and recommendations, both during office visits and over the phone. Provides patient education; explains procedure process and procedures to patients. Disseminates patient care information to appropriate sources.
- Provides collaboration with WU neurotology, pediatric otology, audiology (WU and SLCH), surgery schedulers, medical assistants and nurses, and other providers and care team members in the navigation of patient care for CI and osseointegrated pathway.  This includes triaging all CI referrals, supporting the scheduling process starting implant pathways on new patients, identifying insurance and audiometric based criteria needs, navigating the patient through the testing process, coordinating imaging needs, sending order forms to the operating rooms.
- Coordinates and oversees device ordering with audiology and operating room procurement teams at all sites; coordinating delivery of cochlear implant externals from hospital to appropriate audiology site; serves as key contact with device company representatives.
- Assists the insurance appeal and peer to peer process.
- Provides insight and attends meetings with physicians, audiologists, and the surgery scheduler group
- Serves as resource navigator for adult and pediatric provider practice coordinators, nurses, surgery schedulers, audiology techs, audiologists and physicians regarding the all steps through the cochlear/ osseo implant process.
- Build and support the implantable devices equipment process, including new orders and upgrades.
- Serves as a PRN Audiologist when coverage is needed.
- Oversees the data management for the implantable devices program and identifies areas of growth.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

- Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within one month of hire date
- Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).
- AuD degree, BLS certification, Certified Audiologist, MO and IL audiologist license.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Three years of Cochlear Implant experience and knowledge of the navigation/insurance process.

# Salary Range
$77,700.00 - $120,400.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
