What Application Development & Maintenance contributes to Cardinal Health

Information Technology oversees the effective development, delivery, and operation of computing and information services. This function anticipates, plans, and delivers Information Technology solutions and strategies that enable operations and drive business value.

Application Development & Maintenance performs configuration or coding to develop, enhance and sustain the organization's software systems in a cross-functional team environment through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering practices. This job family programs and configures end user applications, systems, databases and websites to achieve the organization's internal needs and externally-facing business needs. Application Development & Maintenance partners with business leaders, investigates user needs and conducts regular assessments, maintenance and enhancements of existing applications.

The AIMS Consultant in the COE Operations Technology organization provides support to our distribution centers by aligning process and technology to optimize the value of the AIMS warehouse management system and supporting technologies for the Cardinal Health Medical Supply Chain.

Responsibilities

- Provide guidance and support for the functional use of AIMS, and supporting technologies via the phone, email, IM or on-site.
- Develop documentation and deliver training on new and existing system features to new or existing hourly associates and supervisors/managers.
- Analyze supply chain processes and make recommendations for new system capabilities.
- Prepare clear and concise requirement documents / functional specification designs for new features and review / approve technical specification documents.
- Communicate effectively with various functional groups and external customers.
- Create and execute test scripts to ensure proper system function for new and existing features.
- Provide support for new system implementations.

Qualifications

- 4-8 years of experience within supply chain operations, warehouse management systems, or associated technologies, preferred
- Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
- Experience with warehouse management systems and installation
- Experience with AIMS, the Cardinal Health Medical warehouse system, a plus
- Functional understanding or exposure to Parcel Systems, Electronic Signature Capture, AS/RS Technology, RFID, Drug Pedigree Management, Transportation Management, Dock Management or Labor Management
- Comprehend business process at all steps in the supply chain
- Detail oriented individual with good oral and presentation skills
- Detail oriented with the ability to work independently
- Must be able to convey ideas effectively, verbally and through written communication, to all levels of management
- Comprehend business process at all steps in the supply chain, not only within the distribution center
- Ability to travel as needed

Anticipated salary range: $96,300 - $137,600
