Position Overview:

Praescient Analytics is seeking a Senior Cloud Developer to design, build, and maintain cloud-native automation, SIEM/SOAR integrations, and threat response workflows across Federal Law Enforcement agency enclaves. Located in the National Capital Region (NCR), this role supports Praescient's commitment to delivering advanced continuous monitoring, security automation, and incident response capabilities to advance mission success.

Work Description:

- Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud security solutions and automated workflows across multi-cloud environments (AWS and Microsoft Azure) in support of Federal Law Enforcement agency objectives.

- Build, test, and deploy Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) playbooks to automate incident response, vulnerability remediation, and threat containment tasks.

- Integrate enterprise security tools and telemetry sources—including SIEM platforms, vulnerability scanners, endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions, and network intrusion detection systems—into unified automation pipelines.

- Develop custom scripts and automation routines (e.g., Bash) to streamline security operations and operationalize threat intelligence frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK and NSA/DARPA D3FEND.

- Collaborate closely with ISSOs, ISSEs, and system owners to ensure cloud infrastructure and automated workflows align with agency SAA requirements, NIST SP 800-53 Rev 5 controls, and enterprise change management protocols.

- Support deep-dive technical analysis, network packet analysis, and security telemetry reviews to troubleshoot automated integrations and validate control effectiveness.

Required Experience/Skills/Certifications:

- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in software development, cloud engineering, or security automation within enterprise or federal government environments.

- SOAR & Automation Expertise: Proven hands-on experience designing and implementing SOAR platforms and automated response workflows using enterprise platforms such as Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk SOAR, or ServiceNow.

- Technology & Tooling Proficiency:

Cloud Enclaves: Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.

- Security Systems & SIEM/EDR: SIEM platforms, CrowdStrike, Tenable, Cisco security infrastructure, IDS/IPS, and FireEye (NX/HX/EX).

- Analysis & Frameworks: Wireshark, Linux, Bash scripting, MITRE ATT&CK framework, and D3FEND matrix.

- Certifications:

Must hold at least one (1) DoD 8570.01-M / IAM Level II or III compliant certification (e.g., CISSP, CASP+, or equivalent).

- Preferred: One or more cloud security/architecture certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Security - Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate [AZ-500], or CCSP).

- Clearance & Organizational Requirements: Active Top Secret (TS) clearance with TS/SCI eligibility; ability to pass a agency polygraph examination and complete required Visit Access Request (VAR) security vetting processes.
