###
The IT Asset & Telecom Specialist manages the acquisition and full lifecycle of FTI's telecommunications, cellular, and facility-specific technology assets, including MiFis and other cellular-connected devices, ISP and satellite internet services (e.g., Starlink), facility network equipment, and printers and plotters. This role manages intake and fulfillment of purchase requests, invoice and cost analysis, vendor and carrier management, contract and RFQ execution, and end-of-life disposal for its category. This is a vendor and data coordination role, not a hands-on hardware deployment or repair function.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, Supply Chain, Telecommunications or related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in telecom analysis, procurement/sourcing, IT asset management, or IT consulting
Travel: 0-15%
Work Schedule: This position works between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday- Friday. However, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Telecom Expense Management & Cost Analysis
- Analyze telecom expenses, usage trends, and billing data across voice, data, wireless, and IoT services to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Perform invoice auditing and reconciliation — validating carrier and vendor billing against internal inventory and asset records — to eliminate errors, catch discrepancies, and optimize recurring spend.
- Develop and maintain cost analysis reports and dashboards, including variance tracking and executive-level summaries.
- Track telecom and mobile spend, contracts, and inventory using available systems (e.g., Excel, ServiceNow asset/inventory records)
Telecom & ISP Sourcing, Contract, and Vendor Management
- Lead RFQ/RFP development, vendor sourcing, and bid evaluation for telecom, mobile, and facility hardware needs.
- Serve as primary liaison for ISP and telecom carrier relationships — including traditional carriers and satellite internet providers (e.g., Starlink) — covering service activation, outages, and billing issues.
- Submit MACD 'Add' service orders for new ISP circuits at new or expanding sites, coordinating installation timing with the vendor
- Monitor vendor performance against SLAs and KPIs, maintaining vendor scorecards to support renewal and selection decisions.
- Support contract review, redlining, and renewals
- Maintain a master contract and warranty/support renewal calendar spanning telecom, ISP, and facility hardware agreements, acting proactively on expirations and price re-negotiations.
- Stay current on telecom market trends, pricing models, and emerging technologies (e.g., IoT, cloud communications) to inform sourcing and cost/asset management decisions.
Mobile & Wireless Device Lifecycle Coordination (JML)
- Maintain an accurate, centralized inventory of person-assigned mobile and wireless devices (e.g., cellular-connected iPads, MiFis), including make, model, serial number, assigned user, and location.
- Coordinate Joiner/Mover/Leaver (JML) activities for mobile and wireless devices — provisioning and activation for new hires, reassignment/transfers for internal moves, and retrieval/deactivation for departures.
- Initiate MACD (Move/Add/Change/Disconnect) service orders with carriers to execute JML-driven device and line changes, keeping orders accurate and on schedule.
- Serve as the coordination point between end users, carriers, and repair/replacement vendors for device issues, plan changes, and upgrades.
- Support mobile device management (MDM) policy compliance and report on device usage, cost, and utilization trends.
Facility Hardware & Network Equipment Coordination (Site Provisioning)
- Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders to fulfill facility technology needs — printers, plotters, scanners, networking equipment (switches, access points, routers), and satellite internet terminals (e.g., Starlink) — driven by new site openings, relocations, expansions, and consolidations.
- Serve as the point of contact between site contacts and hardware vendors for purchase requests, break/fix tickets, installation scheduling, and service escalations.
- Maintain a complete inventory of facility hardware, including make, model, serial number, location, and assigned cost center, updating records as sites open, close, or change.
- Manage relationships with managed print services (MPS) vendors, including meter reads, cost-per-print tracking, billing review, and fleet refresh planning.
- Track warranty and support status for facility hardware and network equipment, feeding renewal needs into the master contract calendar.
- Coordinate secure decommissioning and data sanitization for retired printers, plotters, and network devices through vendor/ITAD partners, in accordance with company disposal policy.
Telecom Operations & Project Support (Networking Partnership)
- Partner with the Networking/IT Infrastructure team on telecom implementations, migrations, and upgrades — providing project coordination, vendor/contract input, and inventory and cost tracking, while the Networking team leads site visits, installs, and technical execution.
- Reconcile facility hardware and telecom infrastructure inventory against CMDB/asset management records, using site visit findings and updates from the Networking team and vendors.
- Provide vendor, cost, and inventory input to the Networking team as they evaluate telecom solutions such as SIP, WAN, VoIP, and IoT, and support legacy/TDM environments.
Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to assess telecom and hardware needs and recommend cost-effective solutions.
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations with actionable insights for business partners and leadership.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
