Assistant Director of Employer Relations
Pay Status and Classification: Exempt, Regular Full-time, In-Person. This position is not eligible for relocation assistance or visa sponsorship.
Supervisor: Director - Becker Career Center
Position Purpose: The Assistant Director of Employer Relations reports to the Career Center Director and supports employer engagement, campus recruiting, and signature career preparation programs at Union College. This role coordinates recruiting, oversees consortia involvement, and builds strategic career pipelines by connecting students with opportunities through employers and alumni.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Campus Recruiting & Programming (85%)
- Conduct proactive outreach to organizations with a goal of establishing partnerships and opportunities for Union College students.
- Coordinates the campus recruiting cycles, and weekly event schedule of outreach tables, coffee chats, and information sessions on behalf of employers, graduate schools, and alumni.
- Support logistical details, communication and marketing of employer, alumni, networking, and consortium events, educational site visits, and annual on-campus career fair.
- Support Union Financial Network programming including preparatory and on-site events for UFN Bootcamp in New York City.
- Represent the college on the Capital Region Career Consortium (CRCC) for joint events and regional recruiting initiatives.
- Collaborates with Director to report outcomes assessing the effectiveness of employer relations’ programs.
Institutional Collaborations (15%)
- Collaborate with faculty to support student preparation and search strategies for experiential education courses and activities.
- Partner with College Relations to build and leverage alumni connections to engage in networking, mentoring and recruiting opportunities for students
- Manage the Union College alumni networking platform including communications and marketing materials for both students and alumni users.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; or a combination of relevant education, training, certifications, and/or work experience will be considered.
- Familiarity with career services, corporate recruiting, or higher education relationship management desired.
- Familiarity with Handshake and client relationship management software desired.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and relationship-building skills to navigate both external and college-wide partnerships.
- Strong strategic thinking, program evaluation, project and time management skills.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
Compensation:
The annual salary rate for this position is $62,353.20. Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The stated hiring rate/range represents the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
