Position: Maintenance Technician (Independent Living/Assisted Living or Skilled Nursing)

Shift: 8am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday

Pay : $22-$28 per hour, based on position and experience level

Position Summary

StoneRidge is currently hiring for two Maintenance Technician opportunities within our community:

· General Maintenance Technician (Independent Living & Assisted Living) supporting residential apartments, common areas, and community facilities.

· Maintenance Technician (Skilled Nursing) supporting Avalon Health Center, including life safety compliance, regulatory requirements, and healthcare-related building systems.

Compensation

· General Maintenance Technician (Independent Living & Assisted Living): $22-$24 per hour

· Maintenance Technician (Skilled Nursing): $24-$28 per hour

Compensation is based on experience and qualifications.

General Responsibilities

Both positions are responsible for maintaining a safe, attractive, and functional environment through preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections, and exceptional customer service. Duties may include:

· General maintenance and repair work

· Plumbing, electrical, painting, and carpentry tasks

· Preventive maintenance and equipment servicing

· Small appliance and fixture repairs

· Snow removal and seasonal maintenance

· On-call and emergency response duties on rotation

· Use of electronic work order systems

· Operation of community vehicles and equipment

· Assisting with special projects and facility improvements

Skilled Nursing Position Responsibilities

In addition to general maintenance duties, candidates selected for the Skilled Nursing Maintenance Technician role will:

· Conduct fire safety training, drills, and in-services

· Maintain compliance with NFPA and Life Safety Code requirements

· Perform Life Safety Code audits

· Maintain required documentation for generator testing, fire drills, and fire system inspections

· Support compliance with Connecticut Department of Public Health regulations

· Coordinate with leadership, clinical staff, and contractors to ensure required testing, inspections, and maintenance activities are completed accurately and on schedule

Qualifications Required for Both Positions

· High school diploma or GED

· Valid driver's license and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Report review

· Experience in facility maintenance, construction, groundskeeping, or trade work

· Ability to perform basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and repair tasks

· Strong customer service and communication skills

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

· Two or more years of maintenance experience

· Painting and sheetrock experience

· Experience in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or residential maintenance

Preferred for Skilled Nursing Maintenance Technician

· Maintenance experience in a healthcare, commercial, or industrial setting

· Experience with healthcare compliance requirements

· Familiarity with Connecticut Department of Public Health regulations

· Experience conducting fire drills, inspections, and regulatory documentation

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

Moderate to heavy physical effort; may be exposed to the elements (heat, cold, rain, snow); work in area with high voltage electricity, hazardous equipment and moving parts; work on roof top and other high places; ability to set up and climb ladders safely with tools and equipment necessary for assigned work; must be able to lift 80 pounds; must be able to walk, stand and stoop for an extended period of time (over 80% of the time); exposure to a variety of chemicals and dust daily; may be exposed to the HBV and HIV viruses.
