We are searching for the best talent for TDS CGT-Cell Development Co-Op to be in Spring house, PA
- 2 vacancies are currently available.
- The Co-op term is six months typically from January to June, 2027 (flexible).
- Full time requirement (40 hours per week) Fully On-site.
Purpose:
The TDS Cell & Gene Therapy Development Cell Therapy Development Co-Op will provide hands-on experience supporting process development activities for advanced cell therapy modalities, including CAR-T cell therapy. The student will contribute to research focused on cryopreservation processes, cell culture operations, and cell therapy development while gaining exposure to experimental design, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration within Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine.
You will be responsible:
- Supporting projects focused on the development and optimization of cell and gene therapy drug products.
- Evaluating cryobag fill uniformity and assessing its impact on cryopreservation performance.
- Characterizing temperature profiles during freezing and thawing across different cryobag configurations, orientations, and container formats.
- Assessing the impact of cryopreservation conditions on process consistency and post-thaw cell quality.
- Performing laboratory activities including aseptic cell culture techniques, cell isolation methods, and PBMC isolation procedures.
- Analyzing and interpreting experimental data using analytical and statistical methods.
- Participating in technical discussions related to experimental design and process development strategies.
- Collaborating with internal and external project teams through regular meetings and presentations.
- Maintaining laboratory notebooks and technical documentation in accordance with established guidelines.
- Providing additional project support as required.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Completion of Undergraduate Freshman year at an accredited University is required.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Chemical Engineering, Biological Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Analytical Chemistry, or related fields.
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher , which is reflective of all college coursework.
- Candidates must remain actively enrolled in an accredited university throughout the duration of the co-op assignment.
- You must not have any Summer Internship contract or other employment commitment that could interfere with the contract dates specified for this position.
- Candidates must be permanently authorized to work in the United States and must not require sponsorship now or in the future.
- Previous experience with aseptic technique and cell culture is required.
- Knowledge of cell isolation techniques, PBMC isolation methods, basic statistics, analytical techniques, and experimental design is preferred.
- Experience or coursework in T Cell Biology, Immunology, cryopreservation, CAR-T cell therapy, or related cell therapy fields is preferred.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, communication, presentation, and organizational skills are required.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work independently while contributing to team objectives.
- Demonstrated leadership through campus organizations, research activities, or community involvement is preferred.
- Prior laboratory research experience, data analysis, and execution of scientific experiments are preferred.

Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually requires future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship.
