Full job description

A Houston-based managed service provider serving small and mid-sized businesses with managed IT, cybersecurity, cloud, and AV/low-voltage integration. We're a small team, so your work is visible, your input matters, and no two weeks look the same.

THE ROLE

We're looking for a hands-on low-voltage technician to install, terminate, test, and service structured cabling and audio/visual systems at client sites across the Houston area, including installation of Control4 automation and control systems.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Build out and dress MDF/IDF racks, patch panels, and cable management
- Install, wire, and mount Control4 hardware (controllers, audio/video distribution, lighting, touch panels, and keypads) and assist with testing and commissioning; programming is handled in-house
- Install and configure AV systems: displays, projectors, speakers, amplifiers, DSPs, and conference room equipment
- Mount and cable wireless access points, IP cameras, and access control devices
- Read floor plans and scopes of work, and document as-builts and test results
- Troubleshoot and service existing cabling and AV systems
- Communicate clearly with clients, general contractors, and our team
- Keep your truck, tools, and job site clean, organized, and safe

REQUIREMENTS
- MUST HAVE your own hand tools and basic termination and testing tools
- 2+ years of structured cabling and commercial AV installation experience
- Experience installing Control4 or similar control systems (Crestron, Savant, URC)
- Solid termination and testing skills, and familiarity with TIA/EIA standards
- Comfort working on ladders and lifts, above ceilings, and lifting 50+ lbs
- Professional appearance and a customer-first attitude
- Ability to pass a background check

NICE TO HAVE

- Control4 certification or programming experience
- BICSI, CTS, or other manufacturer certifications (Crestron, QSC, Biamp, Ubiquiti)
- Texas low-voltage or security licensing
- Fiber splicing and OTDR experience
- Basic networking knowledge (VLANs, PoE, IP addressing)
- Bilingual English/Spanish

SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION

- Monday through Friday, with occasional after-hours or weekend work for client cutovers
- $25–$29 per hour, depending on skill set and experience
- Annual training allowance of $TBD for certifications and continuing education
