The Opportunity

The Execution Director provides regional business leadership for Water, working closely with the Water Solutions Group Leader, Segment leadership, area leaders, client account managers, and cross-functional partners to develop and execute profitable growth strategies. This role is accountable for business development, integrated client engagement, differentiated water solutions, financial performance, commercial risk management, and effective execution across the full project lifecycle.

The Execution Director leads regional teams in aligning selling and execution objectives with Water, Segment, and enterprise strategy; advancing priority client relationships; shaping and capturing strategic pursuits; and delivering high-quality, safe, and profitable work. The role promotes a seller-doer culture, develops high-performing professionals, supports collaboration, and ensures governance discipline across pursuits, pricing, contracting, project execution, and risk management.

The overall objectives are to contribute to significant and profitable regional growth by expanding existing client relationships, developing new clients, increasing market share across Water business lines, and delivering predictable financial results. Success will be measured through new business Project Gross Margin, earnings before taxes (EBT), sales efficiency, overhead management, cash performance, client satisfaction, safety, and quality.

This position will be evaluated on success in the following areas:

Key Responsibilities

Business Development, Client Engagement, and Integrated Solutions

- Collaborates with the Segment Director and Area Execution Leaders to set new business budget and deliver on new business goals.

- Initiates, maintains, and cultivates strategic relationships with priority clients, business partners, competitors, and senior stakeholders within the assigned region.

- Supports integrated account plans for priority clients in collaboration with client account managers, Segment leadership, and Water Solutions leadership to drive high client satisfaction and profitable growth.

- Leads client engagement using a seller-doer model, coaching technical and delivery leaders to shape opportunities, strengthen executive relationships, and connect client needs to integrated water solutions.

- Identifies differentiated regional water solutions based on market trends, client needs, external forces, competitive positioning, and BV capabilities across the full project lifecycle.

- Leads or supports strategic pursuits, including positioning, capture strategy, Go / No-Go recommendations, proposal development, pricing strategy, and Proposal Review Board documentation.

- Promotes BV thought leadership, market-facing activities, and differentiated service offerings in collaboration with Water, Segment, sales, and marketing teams.

Business and Project Execution

- Meets or exceeds assigned financial and productivity goals, including earned business, EBT, controllable costs, overhead budgets, sales efficiency, and cash performance.

- Manages regional budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance in collaboration with finance and business leadership to support predictable monthly and quarterly results.

- Oversees execution of professional services and strategic projects to meet or exceed expectations for safety, quality, scope, schedule, budget, and client satisfaction.

- Leads team delivering on project execution, maintaining utilizations and salary forecasts, and minimizing project erosion.

- Leads a team of seller-doers that balance new business sales, execution excellence, profitability, and team productivity.

- Drives accountability for commercial risk management, including scope definition, pricing, contract terms, payment terms, change management, claims avoidance, and issue resolution.

- Ensures appropriate governance, review, and compliance procedures are followed for pursuits, pricing, contracting, risk reviews, project execution, corrective actions, and closeout.

- Leads a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and operational discipline with an expectation of zero injuries and consistent delivery excellence.

Strategic Planning, Collaboration, and Professional Development

- Provides leadership input to regional strategic plans and aligns regional selling, delivery, staffing, and investment priorities with Water, Segment, and corporate strategic objectives.

- Supports collaboration across Water, Engineering Design Services, Construction, Sales, Finance, Legal, and other enterprise partners to bring integrated capabilities to clients.

- Builds and leads high-performing regional teams, including coaching seller-doer professionals, developing future leaders, supporting succession planning, and promoting professional development and retention.

- Influences recruitment, staffing, performance management, promotions, and strategic hiring decisions to ensure regional capability aligns with market demand and business strategy.

- Provides front-line visibility for BV in the regional water market through client engagement, industry participation, thought leadership, and collaboration with senior executive clients and partners.

Management Responsibilities

Acts as a project manager. Among responsibilities is management of a project team. The individual comprising this team may vary by project.
## Preferred Qualifications

- 20+ years of progressive leadership experience in sales, marketing, business development, project delivery, or business management within the water, engineering, procurement, consulting, construction, or related industry.

- Technical experience and strong understanding of municipal and industrial water markets, market drivers, delivery models, and general trends are required.

- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline preferred; Master’s degree a plus.

- Demonstrated experience leading client engagement, seller-doer teams, strategic pursuits, contract negotiations, financial performance, and commercial risk management.

- Strong business acumen, executive client relationship skills, communication and presentation skills, strategic thinking, financial literacy, leadership capability, and ability to work collaboratively across business lines and enterprise functions.

Minimum Qualifications
