About this role
Why this role exists
Inorganic growth is a core lever of Omnicell's portfolio strategy, and Product is Corporate Development's primary partner in that work. Every serious acquisition, partnership, or investment opportunity needs product-led market validation, rigorous technology diligence, and an honest strategic-fit call before capital is committed. Today that work competes with roadmap delivery for attention. This role makes it a dedicated, durable capability.
You will be PDO's single accountable owner for Product's side of inorganic and partnership evaluation: building the product case, leading product and technology diligence, and organizing product, design, and engineering resources across the organization to move opportunities to clear decisions on schedule. Corporate Development owns the inorganic process end to end; you own everything Product brings to it. You will work daily with Corporate Development and Market Intelligence, and you will build the playbooks, then the team, that scale this capability beyond one person.
What you'll do
- Lead PDO's contribution to business cases for acquisition, partnership, and investment opportunities, working jointly with Corporate Development, Market Intelligence, and the business sponsor or GM: customer problem and importance, buyer and adoption dynamics, current spend and willingness to pay, directional market size, competitive positioning, and strategic fit and right to win.
- Run rapid opportunity screens in a joint Product and Market Intelligence workflow: structured blinded customer discovery, one defensible sizing methodology, and a concise decision-ready readout in weeks. The bar is enough evidence to decide whether an opportunity merits continued evaluation.
- Lead product and technology diligence on active transactions, including banker-led processes: drive the product and technology question set, assess architecture, roadmap, and workflow fit, and translate findings into valuation, risk, and integration implications.
- Design and run evaluation pilots: when a partnership evaluation needs one, define the pilot, stand it up with the partner and customers, gather structured customer input, and translate the results into the decision.
- Deliver sponsor-quality points of view on product-sponsored opportunities: crisp, executive-ready, and on deadline for every review cycle.
- Assess portfolio suitability: what a target strengthens, what advantage we bring, what remains missing, and how it fits the platform strategy and installed base. Own Product's input to integration planning.
- Run the front door between Corporate Development and PDO: one intake, clear prioritization, and a committed owner and date on every request. Every ask gets an answer and a date.
- Build the team: define, hire, and lead a group of inorganic and partnership specialists spanning software and hardware as deal flow scales, and codify the playbooks they will run. Until those hires land, you are the function: hands-on, in the work, carrying it yourself.
What you'll bring
- 10+ years in product management, including direct experience supporting corporate development, strategy, or M&A from the product seat. You have represented Product across the deal lifecycle: evaluating acquisitions, partnerships, and investments, and carrying integration through after close.
- Direct experience leading product diligence on inorganic transactions in MedTech. Software and tech-enabled services experience in healthcare is required; capital medical equipment or other regulated medical hardware is strongly preferred.
- Commercial depth: market sizing, pricing and unit economics, and business cases that hold up under executive and board scrutiny.
- Hands-on customer discovery: you have designed blinded buyer and user research, run customer-facing evaluation pilots, and synthesized both into decision-grade evidence.
- Executive communication: structured one-pagers and readouts that land in the room, delivered on time.
- Healthcare or health-tech domain experience preferred.
- Leadership: you have built or led small, high-leverage teams, or are ready to.
What success looks like in year one
- A standing Product and Market Intelligence assessment workflow, with every priority opportunity screened to a clear go or no-go recommendation in weeks, not quarters.
- One intake path from Corporate Development into PDO, with committed owners and dates and zero silent misses.
- A sponsor-quality POV on every product-sponsored opportunity, ready ahead of each executive review.
- Product diligence embedded in every active transaction, visibly informing valuation, risk, and integration decisions.
- A hiring plan, and first hires, for the specialist team, with playbooks that outlive any single person.
