This position is eligible for remote work within the United States. However, while the position is remote, periodic travel to Cornell University's Ithaca, New York campus will be required for meetings, team collaboration, training, and other departmental or university business needs. Our Team:
The SC Johnson College of Business Information Technology (IT) department plays a critical role in the success of the College by providing the technology and systems required to fulfill the mission. Our team members collaborate and partner with customers, IT@Cornell, top peer business schools, and vendors to solve problems, provide innovative and valuable business solutions, and share knowledge and resources across the campus. The intimate knowledge of the business functions of the college, the IT department’s collaborative personal relationships with the customers and the pride in what they do helps to set them apart. The department enhances the ability for college personnel to do their jobs effectively and make their lives easier and more productive by providing flexible and user-friendly technology solutions which are helpful and provide a positive user experience. The department is agile and responds quickly as the priorities and needs change. What will you do:
- Lead medium to highly complex projects with one or more critical IT components; manage the planning, implementation, communication, tracking and reporting. Work with business leadership to define scope. Advise and assist senior staff and/or other clients in the formulation of project budget, project financial management and support securing funding when necessary.
- Gather and manage time and cost estimates for both short- and long-term projects; develop college communication plan; track deliverables/approval; manage change requests; communicate status; Facilitate problem resolution.
- Provide elicitation and analysis of business requirements.
- Communicate project scope, goals and responsibilities to project team; establish clear stakeholder expectations, and requirements of varying degrees of complexity.
- Serve as a co-Administrator of TDX Project Management Software. Set up new projects as requested, organize the TDX system in logical project subsets, grant permissions and provide custom reporting as needed.
- Develop and maintain reporting procedures and monitor performance in project control activities; prepare and distribute reports related to project activities, general project management, and financial issues.
- Collaborate with clients to determine project priorities as well as define expected goals and outcomes based on established priorities; Manage project scope including ensuring unique requirements of each project have been identified and needs are met.
- Employ and adapt project management methods and best practices to improve project results and to enhance local project management practices.
- Provide mentoring and coaching of project staff on best practices.
- Assess and manage issues; prioritize and drive resolution of all issues associated with a project; Prepare impact analysis statements and manage the change request process.
- Ensure projects are delivered on-time and within defined budget restrictions; modify timelines as needed and communicate with project governance and staff.
- Actively support Assoc Director on Governance activities, including production of packet, scorecard support to business units, and assisting on preparation for & follow-up after the Governance sessions.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in IT related operations and a proven track record of successful project management on medium to high complexity efforts.
- Strong Skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
- Demonstrated ability to work closely with customers and peers.
- Be self-directed and motivated.
- Able to guide & advise others on Project Management and Business Analysis subject matter.
- Experience modeling values that support inclusion, belonging, and wellbeing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project Management and/or Agile project management certification.
- Knowledge of TeamDynamix project management software.
- Background in Communications and Change Management.
