HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT
The Industrial Powder Coat Painter (Manufacturing Specialist III ) plays a key role in delivering high-quality finished products, with a primary focus on powder coat painting and surface finishing . This position prepares, cleans, masks, coats, and finishes manufactured components while operating powder coat equipment, hand tools, and supporting production equipment. The Industrial Powder Coat Painter (Manufacturing Specialist III ) ensures coating quality by following Bill of Materials (BOM), drawing specifications, work instructions, and documented procedures. This role also maintains equipment and work areas, assists with training Team Members on safe powder coating practices, and continuously looks for opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and production flow.
DETAILS
- Prepare, clean, mask, hang, powder coat, cure, and inspect manufactured components according to work instructions, coating specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements
- Safely operate powder coating equipment, spray guns, ovens, hand tools, cranes, hoists, and material-handling equipment while maintaining a clean and organized work area
- Monitor coating quality, identify and address finish defects, and use SAP and production documentation to track materials, record nonconforming product, and communicate production or material issues
- Support Lean and 5S initiatives, preventive equipment care, cross-training, root-cause problem solving, and other production or assembly activities as needed to meet customer demand
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED required; coursework in Industrial Technology, Automotive, Advanced Manufacturing, or equivalent hands-on experience preferred
- 4+ years in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated experience in industrial painting, powder coating, surface preparation, finishing, or related production processes
- Experience operating powder coat spray equipment and working with production documentation, hand and power tools, material-handling equipment, and SAP or similar manufacturing systems preferred
- Detail-oriented and quality-focused team player with strong problem-solving and communication skills and the ability to identify coating defects, follow established processes, train others, and support continuous improvement
