The National Airspace Systems Integration Support (NISC) program at Leidos is seeking an Engineering Planner to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Central Service Center (CSC) Operations Support Group (AJV-C2) in Fort Worth, Texas .
The Engineering Planner will research, draft, review, and edit complex and potentially sensitive communications for a variety of audiences, including FAA Headquarters and field offices, Congressional offices, public forums, and users of the National Airspace System (NAS). The successful candidate will have extensive FAA operational experience, strong knowledge of FAA orders and regulations, and exceptional written communication skills.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Research, draft, review, and edit complex correspondence, including Congressional responses, Administrator and Safety Hotline responses, general correspondence, VIP briefing papers, and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) materials.
- Review and interpret applicable laws, FAA orders, regulations, policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Coordinate with FAA organizations and Lines of Business (LOBs) to gather information, analyze issues, and develop accurate and timely responses.
- Research and analyze noise complaint events and prepare appropriate correspondence.
- Identify the FAA facilities and offices associated with requests and coordinate information and follow-up as necessary.
- Manage correspondence through required review, comment, endorsement, and approval processes while meeting strict deadlines.
- Ensure correspondence, memoranda, reports, briefings, and other written products are clear, concise, accurate, and appropriate for the intended audience.
- Conduct research, evaluations, and studies and provide analysis and recommendations to FAA customers.
- Utilize Microsoft Office applications, SharePoint, and other information resources to research, prepare, and manage deliverables.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of relevant FAA experience . Additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 10+ years of FAA Air Traffic Controller experience in an Enroute Facility or Level 10 or greater Terminal Facility.
- 5+ years of FAA management or staff experience at an Enroute Facility or Level 10 or greater Terminal Facility.
- Strong working knowledge of FAA regulations, orders, policies, and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to research and evaluate complex issues and develop high-level correspondence for FAA customers.
- Experience creating executive-level briefing materials.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience coordinating and working across multiple FAA Lines of Business.
- Experience engaging with FAA Headquarters, field organizations, public stakeholders, and NAS users.
- Ability to manage multiple high-visibility tasks under tight deadlines.

## Pay Range:
Pay Range $82,550.00 - $149,225.00
