About This Role
Carrier seeks a Quality Manager to provide post-sale technical and customer support for air cooled chillers and split systems after order release, shipment, installation, startup, and early field operation. Reporting to the Quality Director, this role will assist with customer inquiries, field issue triage, startup support, warranty-related investigations, and documentation of product and application concerns. The position is intended for a developing engineer who can build technical knowledge, support cross-functional issue resolution, and help strengthen the connection between customers, field service, engineering, manufacturing, warranty, and quality teams.
Job Description
- Provide post-sale technical support for Commercial HVAC customers, field service teams, sales teams, and internal stakeholders.
- Assist with customer and field inquiries related to installation, startup, operation, troubleshooting, and early-life product performance.
- Document support requests, technical findings, and recommended follow-up actions in a clear and timely manner.
- Support field issue triage and escalation under the direction of quality and service leadership.
- Collect relevant jobsite details, product information, operating conditions, photos, service history, and customer feedback needed to evaluate concerns.
- Help determine whether issues require additional support from Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Warranty, Product Management, or Field Service.
- Assist with startup and jobsite support activities for Commercial HVAC equipment.
- Observe startups, support troubleshooting activities, verify available technical information, and summarize findings for review.
- Develop jobsite reports that clearly communicate field conditions, issue drivers, corrective actions, and lessons learned.
- Support warranty-related investigations and field quality improvement activities.
- Review field concerns, warranty trends, service documentation, and returned-part information to help identify recurring issues.
- Provide factual summaries that support corrective action reviews, customer quality discussions, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Build technical knowledge of Carrier Commercial HVAC products, applications, and support systems.
- Develop working knowledge of Heavy Applied product platforms, controls, startup processes, warranty systems, dashboards, and field reporting tools.
- Participate in product, quality, service, and technical training to strengthen troubleshooting and customer support capability.
- Communicate field learnings and customer feedback to the appropriate internal teams.
- Share trends, lessons learned, and improvement opportunities with Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, Warranty, and Service teams.
- Help strengthen the factory-to-field feedback loop by ensuring field concerns are accurately captured and routed for review.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 7+ years of experience working with air cooled chillers and split systems
OR
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 5+ years of experience working with air cooled chillers and split systems
- 5+ years experience working with Microsoft office applications
- 5+ years experience in data analytics
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time (domestic and international)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with HVAC/refrigeration systems
- Strong communication & presentation skills
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams
Pay Range
The annual salary for this position is between $96,000.00 - $192,000.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate. The pay range will not be below the minimum wage applicable to the jurisdiction in which the applicant is to be employed.
Other Compensation
This position is entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
