About the role:
As a Principal Field Project Manager you will manage a variety of welding, machining and large components replacement projects performed during nuclear power and fossil plant outages.
You will report to the Manager Field Service Operations and the Manager Field Service Operations will consider you a remote employee when you are not traveling during plant outage season.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all project results and management of processes on high-complexity projects, or a portfolio of medium to high-complexity projects. Establish a healthy collaborative culture with large teams, including cross-department roles such as Project Controls, Quality, Engineering and other Project Managers.
- Oversee and provide input to development of cost estimates and proposals for projects, in the nuclear power sector. Support customer negotiations and be an advocate for Westinghouse value-added opportunities and solutions to issues at customer sites.
- Complete the project planning processes. These processes include authoring project management plans, procedures, and schedules. Additionally, they involve challenge meetings, cost baselines/projections, and financials reporting. Furthermore, invoicing, risk and partner registers are also part of the processes. The Westinghouse Project Management Office programs and the Specialty Welding & Machining Project Playbook guide these processes.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Welding, or Mechanical Engineering. Alternatively, equivalent non-degreed technical experience in an industrial environment is acceptable. You may gain this experience through service in the field, nuclear or fossil power plants, NDE, or oil/gas.
- We will consider 5 years of Project Management experience as equivalent. We will also consider 3 years of Project Management or supervisory experience in specific fields may also be considered equivalent. These fields include field service, nuclear or fossil power plants, Non-Destructive Examination (NDE), or oil/gas.
- 6-10 plus years of applicable Project Management experience preferred, specifically in nuclear power plant maintenance and large component replacements, and working with union represented craft workforce welding and machining.
- Experience leading field-based projects, particularly at nuclear plants during outages, and in accordance with Safety and Non-Safety Related Quality Programs, ASME codes and various types of NDE, manual and automated welding and Electronic Discharge Machining (EDM).
We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $103,200 to $129,000 per year.
