About this role

Job Title: QC Chemist Job Description We are seeking a QC Chemist with a strong experience in chemistry, preferably with a degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in a wet chemistry lab, even if it is from academic settings, and should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. The role involves a combination of independent lab work and team collaboration. Responsibilities

- Conduct wet testing, physical testing, and pH testing on various substances.
- Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation including GC machines, automated titrations, hooded reflux reactions, NIR, and KF water testing.
- Collaborate with the quality control department and other teams approximately 1-2 times per month.

Essential Skills

- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field.
- Experience in wet chemistry labs, including school experience.
- Proficiency with laboratory instrumentation such as gas chromatography.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Experience in analytical chemistry and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
- Strong team player mindset with the ability to work independently.

Work Environment The work environment is supportive and team-oriented, with music playing in the lab and a friendly atmosphere among lab technicians. The dress code requires lab workwear, including lab coats (provided), closed-toe shoes, and no exposed ankles. The position operates on a rotating schedule of 4x10 hour shifts, with shifts rotating every eight weeks. Training lasts for two weeks with a team lead, and employees are expected to work independently after about six months. The lab operates 24/7, requiring work on one weekend day per shif

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gurnee, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $28.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
