As an Intermodal Intern at C.H. Robinson, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting the movement of freight across North America's transportation network while learning how rail, drayage, trucking, pricing, and customer operations work together to keep supply chains moving. You'll be immersed in real business challenges and work alongside experienced professionals in account management, carrier management, pricing, and business development.

Throughout the internship, you'll build foundational knowledge of transportation and logistics while gaining exposure to customer operations, carrier relationships, data analysis, process improvement initiatives, and emerging AI-enabled solutions. You'll also complete a meaningful project and present your recommendations to leaders at the conclusion of the internship.

Duties and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of this position consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

- Develop a foundational understanding of intermodal transportation, supply chain operations, carrier capacity management, pricing, and customer service through structured training and hands-on experience.

- Support account management and service assurance teams by assisting with transportation execution, recurring operational activities, and customer-focused initiatives.

- Build relationships with carriers and internal partners while learning how transportation capacity is sourced, managed, and optimized.

- Gain exposure to pricing strategies, business development activities, and customer solution discussions to understand how C.H. Robinson delivers value to customers.

- Utilize technology, operational dashboards, and data analysis tools to identify trends, support decision-making, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

- Participate in rotational experiences across account management, carrier management, pricing, business development, and operational excellence teams.

- Collaborate on projects focused on process improvements, operational efficiency, AI-enabled solutions, or transportation network optimization.

- Demonstrate an ownership mindset by asking questions, contributing ideas, taking initiative, and supporting team objectives.

- Other duties or responsibilities as assigned according to the team and/or country specific requirements.

Required Qualifications

- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and Summer 2028.

- Experience using customer perspective to guide decisions and actions

- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills

- Enjoy solutions-driven work by leveraging appropriate tools to evaluate and make recommendations

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with customers and work effectively across teams

- Proven leadership or team involvement in internships, projects, or student organizations deonstrating teamwork, influence, and problem-solving

Compensation Range

$15 - $30 per hour

The base pay range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum base pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Your individual base pay within this range is determined by work location, which takes into account geographic cost of labor, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
