Position Summary

The Site EHS Specialist is responsible for supporting facility operations through the implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of Environmental, Health, and Safety programs. This position serves as the primary site-level EHS resource and works closely with plant leadership, supervisors, and employees to ensure compliance with company standards and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. The EHS Specialist plays a critical role in developing a proactive safety culture by identifying risks, implementing corrective actions, conducting training, supporting regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

·Monitor and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and applicable regulations.

·Develop, implement, maintain, and improve facility EHS programs, policies, procedures, and standards.

·Conduct routine inspections, risk assessments, hazard analyses, and compliance audits.

·Lead incident investigations, near-miss reviews, root cause analyses, and corrective action development.

·Deliver EHS training programs for employees, supervisors, contractors, and visitors.

·Maintain OSHA 300, 300A, and 301 recordkeeping requirements.

·Support workers’ compensation case management and return-to-work programs.

·Coordinate contractor safety management activities.

·Support emergency preparedness, evacuation planning, and emergency response activities.

·Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and HR to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.

·Track and report leading and lagging EHS performance indicators.

·Support ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and IATF 16949 management systems.

·Assist with Management of Change reviews and capital project safety evaluations.

·Support environmental compliance reporting and permit management.

·Facilitate Safety Committee meetings and employee engagement initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

·         Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related field.

·         2-5 years of EHS experience in manufacturing, automotive, or industrial environments.

·         OSHA 30-Hour Certification required; OSHA 511 preferred.

·         Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and IATF 16949 requirements.

·         Experience conducting audits, inspections, training, and investigations.

·         Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

·         Experience with Root Cause Analysis methodologies.

·         Machine safety and ergonomics experience.

·         Environmental reporting experience.

·         First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor certification preferred.

·         Automotive manufacturing experience preferred.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

·         Combination of office and manufacturing plant environments.

·         Approximately 60% plant floor and 40% office activities.

·         Must be able to wear required PPE and work in manufacturing conditions.

·         Must be able to stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, and conduct inspections throughout the facility.

·         Occasional lifting up to 45 pounds.

·         May be required to work flexible hours to support operational needs and emergency response.
