JOB DESCRIPTION
KTVU FOX 2 is seeking a dynamic, adaptable, and high-energy Morning Show Anchor to join the iconic Mornings on 2 team!
We are looking for a vibrant personality who brings fun, authenticity, and warmth to the anchor desk every morning. The ideal candidate is more than just a traditional news anchor—you are a conversationalist with strong editorial and unscripted hosting capabilities who thrives in live environments, excels at ad-libbing, and loves getting out into the field to showcase the culture, people, and stories that make the Bay Area unique.
In addition to anchoring Mornings on 2 , you will be a versatile newsroom leader who can take on flexible field reporting duties as news breaks, pitch in on live lifestyle segments, or step in on our digital and streaming platforms (FOX Local San Francisco) to drive interactive coverage across our broadcast and streaming ecosystems.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as the engaging, energetic co-anchor for Mornings on 2 , bringing a strong, authentic personality, humor, and natural rapport to the morning broadcast.
- Ditch the script to lead engaging, fun, and conversational live interviews and long-form segments both in-studio and in the field.
- Stay at the frontline of developing stories and feature segments, taking on flexible hosting and field reporting duties across the Bay Area.
- Fill in seamlessly on KTVU's digital platforms and FOX Local channels, hosting live unscripted streams, breaking news coverage, and special digital broadcasts.
- Pitch, research, write, and produce creative, compelling video and feature content tailored for both linear broadcast and social media.
- Connect authentically with the audience, driving real-time digital engagement, viewer interaction, and maintaining an active, professional social media presence that aligns with the KTVU brand.
- Partner closely with executive producers, morning show producers, photojournalists, and field crews to adapt stories effectively across multiple platforms.
- Perform other newsroom and community engagement duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
- 3 to 5+ years of professional experience as an on-air anchor, streaming host, reporter, or Multimedia Journalist (MMJ) in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional on-camera presence with proven unscripted delivery, live ad-libbing, warmth, and outstanding interviewing skills.
- Proven capability to transition smoothly from high-energy lifestyle and feature interviews to unscripted breaking news and serious field reporting.
- Basic experience with digital streaming workflows, video tools, and digital platforms to independently assist or anchor streaming broadcasts.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills under intense deadline pressure while maintaining strong journalistic integrity.
- High school diploma required; 4-year college degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field preferred.
- Deep familiarity with the San Francisco Bay Area, its diverse communities, current events, and local culture is highly favorable.
- Willingness to work early morning hours and adapt quickly to fast-moving story developments and shifting show priorities.
