About this role

Shipping, Receiving & Mail Services (SRM) is a diverse and nimble team that supports logistics activities across North America. We’re seeking an experienced, collaborative, and highly motivated leader to join our team in Santa Clara Valley (SCV) as a Shipping Supervisor.
You’ll be responsible for supervising the SCV Shipping Team, which handles both domestic and international shipments. If you’re a highly organized, detail-oriented leader with experience in these areas, great communication skills, and a can-do attitude, come and do your life’s best work at Apple!

You will have oversight of our Shipping team as a working supervisor, assisting your team members with daily operations and helping fill in for employee absences. In addition to shipping operations, you’ll be expected to learn the functions of all other SCV SRM teams and provide backup supervisory support when the primary team supervisor is unavailable.

You’ll be expected to learn quickly and gain a deep understanding of all procedures performed by your team. You’ll dig into the details to identify and implement process improvements, help escalate and answer challenging questions, and ensure operations are running smoothly.

Collaboration is key to success at Apple, and you’ll frequently work with other supervisors and managers to develop and update Standard Operating Procedures and conduct team trainings. Embracing and promoting Apple’s values and policies is essential, as is exemplifying Apple’s high standards around integrity and ethics. You’ll ensure job functions are performed in a safe manner by following Environment, Health & Safety procedures, and performed in full compliance with Apple policy and applicable laws.

You will be expected to hold regular team meetings and 1:1s with your direct reports, continually providing coaching and guidance on areas for improvement. You’ll co-develop and review an individual development plan with each of your reports on a quarterly basis at a minimum. You’ll also need to be comfortable having challenging conversations, and always remember to celebrate key achievements and growth.

You should remain flexible and prepared for changes to the schedule, including occasionally working early mornings, evenings, or weekends. You will also be expected to assist with after-hours requests, as needed, and complete other duties as assigned.
