About this role

Position, Purpose & Scope:

The Quality Inspector is a key team member supporting Thomas Global Systems’ operations by driving acceptance of conforming parts into inventory for aircraft parts, components, and materials. This role is responsible for inspecting all incoming parts and ensuring that all the requirements have been met per our purchase order, specifications, drawings, and IPC standards. This position will also reject non-conforming parts and inform the appropriate stakeholders as required by our procedures. This position will be working within an FAA Part 145, EASA, and AS9100 regulatory frameworks, this role operates in a clean, safe, and organized environment and ensures compliance with all company procedures and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Quality compliance to specifications:  Inspect incoming parts using complex electronics drawing s , blueprints, or schematics to detect any inconsistencies or discrepancies with the parts .

- Visual inspections:  E xamine parts for cosmetic defects , damage , or FOD

- Dimensional requirements:  Measures parts as needed for conformance to the specifications using various hand tools .

- Data integrity:  Reviews incoming supplier paperwork for compliance and completeness (C of C’s/ATR’s)

- Process Improvement:  Records inspection data to calculate DPPM and drive supplier corrective actions . Contributes data for Supplier Scorecards and works with various other department to resolve supplier issues.

- Shortage Prevention & Risk Management:  
Fl ag and communicate any rejections that will impact production to minimize down times .

- Regulatory Compliance:  Maintain documentation and participate in audits as needed

- Guidance & Support:  Provide feedback and recommendations to improve process es internally and with suppliers

- Other Duties:   Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management

Required Skills, Experience and Behaviors:

- Minimum 5 years’ experience with in Aerospace or Defence Industry .

- Engineering background in electronics
inspection, mechanical inspection, Quality control, or PCB assembly and inspection.

- Working knowledge of IPC-610, 620, and J-STD - 001 requirements, AS9100 standards, and aerospace traceability and documentation practices.

- Ability to use basic inspection hand tools like callipers , micrometers , and gauges to verify conformance to specifications

- Ability to interpret Bills of Materials (BOMs), work orders, and revision-controlled documentation.

- Experience using Excel and ERP/MRP systems for inventory transactions

- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a high level of accuracy in a regulated environment.

- Experience in aerospace manufacturing, repair, assembly, avionics, and inspection preferred .

- Engineering or quality-related certifications (e.g., APICS/ASCM) are preferred.

- Exposure to lean or continuous improvement practices such as 5S or Kanban is preferred.

- Confirmed NEGATIVE results for drug and alcohol testing in compliance with 14 CFR Part 120 and 49 CFR Part 40.

- U.S. person status required due to applicable export control requirements.
