About the Role

The Discipleship Associate helps cultivate a church community where people connect deeply, grow in their faith, and become fully devoted followers of Jesus. This role supports the development of a strong discipleship ecosystem at Village Church, providing strategic, administrative, and relational leadership across Community Groups, classes, gatherings, retreats, and Alpha.

Key Responsibilities

- Support Discipleship Pastors in developing Community Group content, communication, training, and structures.
- Coordinate weekly curriculum communications and oversee processes that help people connect with Community Groups.
- Lead initial Community Group Leader training across Hub sites and develop resources to equip leaders.
- Plan and lead Hub discipleship classes and gatherings, including Women’s Gatherings, the annual Community Group Leader Conference, and Village Financial.
- Lead the annual church-wide Alpha program and Alpha Retreat, and support bi-annual Men’s and Women’s Retreats.
- Recruit, train, and equip volunteers for discipleship initiatives.
- Coordinate venues and logistics for Hub discipleship programs and events.
- Collaborate with the Discipleship team to strengthen community, develop leaders, and support spiritual growth.

Requirements

What You Bring

- Aligned with the mission, focus, and strategy of Village Church.
- Demonstrates the biblical character qualifications outlined in 1 Timothy and Titus and fulfils the expectations of Village Church membership.
- Actively pursues spiritual growth and a deepening relationship with Jesus.
- 5+ years of church ministry experience preferred.
- Proven experience leading teams, developing individuals, recruiting, and training volunteers.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Relational leadership skills, with a pastoral, collaborative, and people-focused approach.
- Adaptable, solution-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced ministry environment.

- People are growing in their faith, connecting in community, serving, and taking meaningful steps in their discipleship journey.
- Community Group leaders and volunteers are equipped, supported, and thriving in their roles.
- Discipleship programs and events are well organized, effective, and aligned with the mission of Village Church.
- All responsibilities are completed efficiently and collaboratively, with the Gospel at the centre of all ministry.

Benefits

Salary: $27,000- $28,500

20 hours/week

3 weeks vacation
