Procurement Category Manager – Workspace Design & Construction
On a global basis, the Procurement Category Manager shall drive the category strategy management and planning for the Workspace Design & Construction (WD&C) category to deliver competitive advantage for HSBC’s business through cost savings, lifecycle value generation, demand management and innovation. Additionally, the Procurement Category Manager shall execute Sourcing projects to deliver saving targets and other key business outcomes set out above.
This is a Global role covering all HSBC countries and regions, however, to ensure the WD&C Procurement Category Manager has close proximity to the significant capital works Real Estate Services have planned across the AME region, this role will be based in India to enable strong on-the-ground engagement and support.
The Sourcing projects will be delivered globally or locally in accordance with the category strategy and will leverage the full range of supply and demand-side levers. In-depth sourcing and contracting knowledge will be applied in the execution of these plans across all category areas whilst ensuring the risks associated with the purchase of goods and services are mitigated commercially, contractually, and operationally.
It is expected that post contact value opportunities will be identified and delivered through working with business supplier managers and the relevant supply base making sure that these opportunities align with Category Strategies at all times.
The role will support the Global Category Lead to provide Category Management expertise and execute sourcing projects across a range of sub-category areas. Leveraging specific Workspace Design & Construction Category knowledge, the projects will be delivered through the deployment of strategic sourcing disciplines, excellent project management and relationship management skills
The role is required to manage the following categories across all HSBC countries and regions, so previous experience of leading comparable spend areas is important.

The role will develop influential senior level relationships (generally at a level below those held by the Global Category Lead) with designated businesses and functions on behalf of all of the Procurement sub- functions including ownership of the sourcing process.
Key to success are advanced skills in analysis/synthesis in the application of a range of commercial models, with a focus on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
Technical qualifications and experience :
- RICS (Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors)
- CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply)
- MSC in Quantity Surveying and/or Construction Project Management
- 15yrs+ in construction industry project management
Additional Notes :
Familiarity with AI-enabled tools is an advantage.
Mandatory to successfully complete Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions training and post-course assessment, as required.
