About this role

Location: New York, NY

Work Model: Onsite, 5 days per week

Industry: AI-powered education technology (B2B SaaS)

Compensation: $85K base, $125K OTE

About the Company

Our partner is a venture-backed AI education technology company selling into K-12 schools and districts. Revenue has grown from roughly $2M to $3M in annual recurring revenue over the past year, the team is around 18 people, and the company is moving upmarket into larger district and public-sector accounts while expanding internationally. The sales organization is small and deliberately kept that way: each segment is owned by one person, so individual output is visible immediately.

The Opportunity

This is an added seat on the districts team, not a backfill. You will own high-volume outbound into school districts and the leaders who run them, working alongside the account executive who owns that segment. The team currently runs 200 or more quality calls a day, and this role is deliberately scoped as pure execution: no internal systems building, no operations projects, just being excellent on the phone.

The growth path is unusually short. As booked demos outpace the team's capacity to run them, the company adds account executive seats, and the person generating those demos is considered first. The fastest anyone has moved out of this seat is five months.

Responsibilities

- Run high-volume outbound calling into school districts, independent schools and public-sector education buyers
- Book qualified demos for the account executive who owns the districts segment
- Research accounts and identify the right stakeholder to reach in each one
- Represent the company credibly with school and district leaders in live conversation
- Consistently hit and exceed a weekly and monthly activity and booking target

Requirements

- 1-3 years in a customer-facing role carrying a number (sales, business development, fundraising, recruiting or similar)
- Demonstrated track record of hitting targets, with metrics you can speak to
- Experience sustaining a high daily call volume; comfort making the phone the center of the job
- Strong social intelligence: the ability to read a conversation and adapt rather than deliver a script
- Clear communication and sound judgment when speaking with senior school and district leaders
- Resilience with a high volume of rejection, and a preference for outcomes over activity
- Startup experience strongly preferred
- Experience selling into schools, districts or public-sector buyers, or an EdTech background, is a plus
