Role Summary

The Manufacturing Engineering will provide technical and operational support to Design Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering teams across the semiconductor equipment product lifecycle. The role is responsible for improving product readiness, maintaining an accurate digital product definition, validating product structures and manufacturing requirements, and resolving design-to-manufacturing issues before product build.

Key Responsibilities

Design and Manufacturing Engineering Support

- Provide day-to-day engineering support to Design and Manufacturing Engineering teams for new product introduction, product upgrades, prototype builds, pilot builds, production ramp, and sustaining activities.

- Review product designs for manufacturability, assembly, installation, accessibility, maintainability, and serviceability.

- Identify and communicate design risks, assembly constraints, tolerance concerns, clearance issues, hardware incompatibilities, and manufacturing readiness gaps.

- Support build issue resolution by coordinating containment, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and design or process updates with relevant stakeholders.

- Track engineering and manufacturing issues through closure and capture lessons learned for reuse in future designs.

Master Layout and Digital Product Model Management

- Create, maintain, and validate Master Layouts at module and system levels for multiple product configurations.

- Develop and maintain accurate 3D virtual product models aligned with the released physical product configuration.

- Incorporate approved design changes into product models and ensure configuration consistency across affected assemblies.

- Create and manage parts, kits, subassemblies, and top-level assemblies in Siemens NX and Teamcenter Engineering.

- Apply Master Layout, assembly, modelling, drafting, and Model-Based Definition standards.

- Support product-option architecture, options and variants logic, effectivity, and product configuration in Teamcenter.

- Review electrical and mechanical schematics and translate routing requirements into NX assemblies.

- Create and validate mechanical, cable, and harness assembly routing within the product model.

- Check routing for length, bend radius, accessibility, connector interfaces, service loops, clamp locations, interference, and assembly feasibility.

- Coordinate with Design Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and assembly teams to resolve routing-related issues.

- Support E3S drawing reviews and ensure routing deliverables meet applicable engineering and manufacturing standards.

- Create, revise, and release parts, assemblies, kits, drawings, and product structures through the approved Engineering Change Management process.

- Evaluate change impact across product models, BOMs, manufacturing documentation, options, variants, and affected configurations.

- Support release-readiness reviews and verify that required engineering deliverables are complete, consistent, and available to downstream users.

Required Technical Skills

- Proficiency in Siemens NX, including solid modelling, sheet-metal design, assemblies, drafting, routing, and Model-Based Definition.

- Proficiency in Teamcenter Engineering and Teamcenter Visualization for product data, structure, configuration, workflow, and release management.

- Strong understanding of Master Layout methodology and management of complex module- and system-level assemblies.

- Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing, Design for Assembly, Design for Serviceability, tolerance analysis, fit and clearance validation, and assembly-sequence assessment.

- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, cable and harness drawings, specifications, and engineering standards.

- Experience with Engineering Change Management and product lifecycle release processes.

- Awareness of SAP, iOMS, ERP, MES, and digital-thread integration.

- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and structured problem-solving skills.

Behavioral and Collaboration Skills

- Clear written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Ability to work effectively with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, NPME, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, and Service teams.

- Strong ownership, attention to detail, prioritization, and follow-through.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced product-development and manufacturing environment.

- Continuous-improvement mindset with a focus on issue prevention, product quality, cycle-time reduction, and manufacturing readiness.

Education and Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.

- Typically 10–15 years of relevant experience supporting semiconductor equipment, complex electromechanical products, capital equipment, or high-technology manufacturing.

- Demonstrated experience supporting Design and Manufacturing Engineering teams through design release, build, issue resolution, and product change implementation.

- Experience in semiconductor equipment product development or manufacturing is preferred.
