Sourcing Specialist

Job Title: Sourcing Specialist
Location: Wabtec – India (Bangalore)
Experience: 4–8 Years

Budget – 13 LPA
Domain: Strategic Sourcing / Procurement / Supply Chain / Supplier Management

Role Summary:
We are looking for a Sourcing Specialist to manage supplier identification, RFQ
activities, cost analysis, sourcing projects, supplier onboarding, PPAP
tracking, and cost-reduction initiatives. The role will work closely with
Sourcing, Engineering, SCM, Suppliers, and Project teams.

### Key
Responsibilities

1. Strategic Sourcing
& RFQ

- Identify and evaluate new suppliers based on category
and regional requirements.
- Conduct supplier market research and develop supplier
intelligence.
- Manage RFI/RFQ activities, quotation analysis, and commercial evaluation.
- Support new supplier onboarding and supplier data
management using HICX
/ Wabtec systems .
- Prepare business cases covering ROI, CAPEX, NRE, and cost impact .

2. Project Management

- Maintain project trackers with planned vs. actual milestones .
- Conduct regular project reviews and follow up on
deliverables.
- Track cost-reduction initiatives and Supplier Cost Reduction Ideas
(SCRI) .
- Initiate and track PPAP requests and deliverables .

3. Data &
Documentation

- Maintain commodity, PIR, SFA/master files, and project
trackers.
- Maintain Project
Savings Tracker (PST) and ensure timely updates/uploads.
- Ensure accurate sourcing and project-related data
across systems.

4. Analytics &
Reporting

- Maintain sourcing dashboards and commodity trend
analysis.
- Analyze price increases/decreases and their business
impact.
- Track part-cost data and perform cost analytics.
- Analyze Deflation
/ Power BI reports and identify key cost drivers.
- Prepare biweekly forecasts based on open POs and demand
forecasts, including Budget
vs. PST vs. Gap analysis .

5. Cost Reduction
& Sourcing Strategy

- Identify cost-saving opportunities through:
- Dual sourcing
- Supplier negotiations
- SCRI
- Should-cost analysis
- Supplier benchmarking

- Identify and execute sourcing projects to achieve
targeted cost savings.

6. Tactical
Procurement Activities

- Manage sourcing rules and price-feed uploads.
- Complete PST uploads and updates.
- Initiate PPAP and workflow approval requests.
- Coordinate SCM handover, SSS/PID and site approvals.
- Support PO
release for NRE/CAPEX and initial samples .

Required Skills

- Experience in Strategic
Sourcing / Procurement / Supply Chain .
- Strong knowledge of RFQ, RFI, quotation analysis and supplier evaluation .
- Experience in supplier
identification, onboarding and supplier management .
- Knowledge of PPAP
and APQP processes .
- Understanding of cost
reduction, should-cost analysis and supplier negotiations .
- Strong Excel and data-analysis skills.
- Experience with Power
BI is preferred.
- Exposure to SAP
/ HICX / procurement databases or similar tools is an
advantage.
- Strong project tracking, communication and
stakeholder-management skills.

Profile

Good fit: Strategic Sourcing Executive / Sourcing Specialist / Procurement Specialist /
Commodity Buyer / Supplier Development / Cost Analyst with experience in manufacturing, automotive, railway,
industrial engineering or heavy engineering .

RFQ
process

- Category landscaping & Supplier identification
- Develop technical and regional supplier market
intelligence.
- RFI (Request for information) from new vendors,
- RFQ (Request for quote) from suppliers and quote
analysis
- New Supplier Onboarding and Supplier data management
(HICX or in any WABTEC database)
- Offer evaluation & Business case with ROI,
CAPEX, NRE details

Project
Management

- Project tracker with milestone – Plan v/s actual
- Recurring review to track project milestones
- Track cost reduction activities / SCRI (supplier
cost reduction ideas)
- Initiate PPAP requests and PPAP deliverables
tracking.

Data
Management

- Maintain commodity tracker for all projects.
- Maintain PIR tracker
- Master files/SFA
- Project savings tracker (PST) upload and maintenance

Analytics/
Reporting:

- Sourcing dashboard updates, Commodity trend analysis
& tracking.
- Impact Analysis and Data collections on Price
increase/decrease
- Track part cost data and analytics
- Deflation/Power BI report analysis ,Top drivers
- Biweekly forecasting based on open PO/forecast – Gap
v/s Budget v/s PST

Strategy

- Identify cost Saving opportunity using levers like
dual sourcing , SCRI, Should cost etcc.
- Achieve target cost saving worth $100k USD for 2024
- Identify target cost saving projects worth $250k USD
for 2025

Tactical
activities

- Sourcing Rules, Price Feed upload.
- PST Upload
- Initiate PPAP requests
- Workflow Approval Requests for Site approvals – SCM
handover / SSS/ PID
- PO release or NRE / CAPEX
- PO release or Initial samples
