About this role

At Alstom, we build what millions depend on daily - rail transportation systems that can't afford to fail. We're more than 85,000 people worldwide creating the industry's most diverse portfolio: high-speed trains, metros, trams, maintenance services and integrated systems.

Could you be the full-time Rail Systems Technician in October City [WON] we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your technical and maintenance expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside skilled and collaborative teammates.

You'll play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our rail systems. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as Operations, Supervisors, and Engineers), perform preventive maintenance, and respond to unexpected system failures, among other responsibilities.

You’ll specifically take care of maintaining SIG, PSD, COMMS, SCADA, and AFC systems, but also ensure compliance with safety regulations and proper documentation of maintenance activities.

We’ll look to you for:

- Performing preventive maintenance in line with the approved maintenance plan

- Carrying out routine inspections of system equipment and monitoring its performance

- Responding quickly to unexpected failures to restore normal operation

- Providing accurate and timely reports to Supervisors and Engineers

- Complying with all EHS rules and regulations

- Applying and following the Permit to Work (PTW) process

- Coordinating with the Operations team during maintenance activities to maintain system availability

- Reading and understanding technical drawings, schematics, manuals, and maintenance procedures

- Reporting safety observations, incidents, near misses, and equipment abnormalities

- Performing hands-on low-voltage electrical work

- Ensuring maintenance tools are calibrated and in good working condition

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

- Degree or diploma in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering

- Experience or understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance

- Knowledge of SIG, PSD, COMMS, SCADA, and AFC systems

- Familiarity with reading technical drawings and schematics

- A basic understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

- A proactive approach to safety and compliance

Things you’ll enjoy

Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

- Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines

- Work with cutting-edge technology and systems

- Collaborate with transverse teams and supportive colleagues

- Contribute to innovative projects

- Utilise our inclusive and dynamic working environment

- Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries

- Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
