Do you enjoy working independently, solving problems, and delivering exceptional service directly to customers? Thompson Truck Group is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician to provide on-site maintenance and repair services for commercial trucks throughout our service area.
This position puts you in a fully equipped service vehicle where you'll diagnose issues, perform repairs, and help keep customers' trucks operating safely and efficiently. If you're a skilled diesel technician looking for variety, autonomy, and career growth, we want to hear from you.
What You'll Do
- Travel to customer locations to perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance
- Troubleshoot diesel engines, electrical systems, air brakes, suspensions, and drivetrains
- Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high quality standards
- Communicate findings and recommendations with customers and service advisors
- Accurately document work performed and parts used
- Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked mobile service vehicle
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
- Deliver outstanding customer service while representing Thompson Truck Group in the field
Qualifications
Required
- Diesel technician experience diagnosing and repairing heavy-duty trucks
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy equipment and components
- Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship
Preferred
- ASE, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, or OEM certifications
- CDL or ability to obtain one
- Experience with mobile service operations
- Advanced diagnostic computer experience
- Vocational or technical training in diesel technology
