About this role

Job Title: Regional Test Manager Automotive Connectivity and Telematics Job Description The Regional Test Manager leads end-to-end test strategy, integration, and validation across multiple delivery teams in a designated region, focusing on automotive connectivity, data collection, CVP, and marketplace services. This role operates as a coordination layer above the delivery teams, securing tester bandwidth, managing cross-team defects and dependencies, and serving as the quality gatekeeper for Go/No-Go decisions. The Regional Test Manager collaborates closely with internal teams and external suppliers, contributes to QA governance and process improvements, and supports global and regional initiatives in a complex, multi-team environment. Responsibilities

- Own the end-to-end test strategy, planning, and execution across all delivery teams within the assigned region, excluding OTA E2E testing, while ensuring OTA integration points connect correctly into the broader cross-team E2E flow in coordination with the OTA Test Manager.
- Create comprehensive test strategies and define the scope split between delivery-team testing and E2E testing, ensuring clear ownership and accountability.
- Identify cross-team dependencies and align with Project Managers, Product Owners, and Delivery Managers for capacity and resource planning across Scrum and supplier (Waterfall) workstreams.
- Develop and maintain the Master Test Plan covering delivery-team, integration, and E2E testing, including an indicative Go/No-Go timeline and key milestones.
- Support Delivery Managers and Product Owners with capacity planning, role and skills definition, and hiring support for testing and QA needs when required.
- Provide all required testing documentation and inputs for various project approval phases, ensuring compliance with QA and governance standards.
- Coordinate System Integration Testing (SIT) activities across all teams and publish clear, actionable test reports in collaboration with Test Leads.
- Work closely with external validation teams, including Vehicle Testing and PTC, to plan, coordinate, and report validation progress to stakeholders.
- Review test results after Business Analyst and Product Owner evaluation, and prepare detailed test summary reports with support from Test Leads.
- Manage defect resolution and dependencies across delivery teams, driving timely remediation and maintaining transparent progress reporting.
- Secure tester bandwidth from Product Owners and Delivery Managers for integration and E2E test phases, ensuring adequate coverage and continuity.
- Monitor and report quality metrics on a weekly basis to QA leadership and relevant stakeholders, using metrics-driven insights to guide decisions.
- Escalate blockers such as software delays or integration issues through the established escalation path via Project Management.
- Order and prepare test benches for internal teams and suppliers, ensuring appropriate test environments are available and configured correctly.
- Participate in and contribute to internal review and revision activities, including work on cross-functional test checklists and QA governance artifacts.
- Enforce quality gates before phase transitions, following the defined escalation path to QA leadership when quality thresholds are not met.
- Present test summaries and Go/No-Go recommendations to Product Owners, Delivery Managers, and business stakeholders, providing clear rationale for decisions.
- Provide required test and quality inputs to Delivery Managers for division-level projects, supporting their Go/No-Go responsibilities.
- Contribute to QA activities such as defining QA and test processes, templates, and standards to continuously improve testing practices.
- Perform audits of requirements, test artefacts, test cases, and test reports to ensure completeness, traceability, and adherence to quality standards.
- Act as a key contributor to cross-regional collaboration between EU and NA test management teams, supporting cross-training to reduce single-point-of-failure risks.
- Support vehicle testing activities and related artefacts, including test evidence and Go/No-Go documentation, and maintain effective communication with suppliers.
- Act as a hands-on quality gatekeeper who understands the practical aspects of bench, vehicle, telematics, and ECU testing, while operating in a test management capacity.

Essential Skills

- Extensive automotive testing experience, including direct, hands-on work with test benches, vehicles, telematics systems, and ECUs, followed by progression into a lead or test manager role.
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related technical discipline.
- Proven experience working on large automotive projects in the connectivity and telematics space, with preferred exposure to commercial vehicles.
- Strong understanding of automotive communication protocols such as J1939, CAN, and UDS, including practical experience applying these in test scenarios.
- Hands-on experience with CAN simulation tools, particularly Vector tools such as Vector CANoe.
- Demonstrated test management experience in multi-team environments, covering integration testing and end-to-end validation across multiple delivery streams.
- Ability to coordinate effectively across Scrum-based delivery teams and Waterfall supplier workstreams, managing integration complexity and dependencies.
- Strong supplier coordination skills, including managing supplier software stability, delivery schedules, and associated risks.
- Experience defining, implementing, and enforcing quality gates and pass/fail thresholds for project phases and releases.
- Proficiency in capacity planning for test resources, defect management, and metrics-driven reporting to stakeholders.
- Solid grasp of testing concepts, methodologies, and best practices, including defect lifecycle management and test artefact governance.
- Ability to operate as a regional test owner while collaborating across regions (EU and NA), with willingness to participate in cross-training to ensure continuity.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present clear test summaries and Go/No-Go recommendations to technical and business audiences.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Experience working with telematics and connectivity solutions in commercial vehicle environments.
- Experience in automotive test bench setup and operation, including hardware and software integration for ECUs and telematics units.
- Familiarity with vehicle-level validation activities and coordination with specialized external validation teams.
- Experience contributing to QA governance, including defining test processes, templates, and checklists.
- Prior involvement in requirements, test artefact, and test report audits to improve quality and compliance.
- Ability to mentor and guide testers and QA professionals, supporting their growth from hands-on roles into more Sr. positions.
- Comfort working in complex, multi-regional organizations with cross-functional teams and diverse stakeholder groups.
- Interest in long-term career opportunities, including potential transition from contract to permanent employment as organizational needs evolve.

Work Environment The Regional Test Manager works in a collaborative, cross-functional environment that spans multiple delivery teams, regions, and supplier organizations. The role involves close coordination with QA leadership, an OTA Test Manager, Project Managers, Product Owners, Delivery Managers, internal engineering teams, and external suppliers and validation partners. Work is primarily performed in an office and lab setting, with regular interaction with automotive test benches, connectivity and telematics test setups, and vehicle testing activities. The environment combines Agile Scrum delivery with supplier-driven Waterfall workstreams, requiring structured planning, clear communication, and disciplined governance. Standard business hours are typical, with flexibility to support critical integration phases, quality gates, and release milestones as needed.
