Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer, the Manager will oversee the day-to-day fundraising operations that keep the Advancement department running effectively, including donor data, gift and pledge processing, acknowledgments, reporting, and financial reconciliation. The Manager will also lead the internal fundraising and donor-relations work for special events, including the Brooklyn Bridge Park Gala, Women’s Lunch, and other fundraising and cultivation events, working closely with external event planning and production partners.

This is a hands-on role for someone who is equally comfortable managing complex projects, building reliable systems, and providing thoughtful, responsive support to donors and sponsors.

Primary Responsibilities:

Fundraising and Donor Relations

- Manage a portfolio of past and prospective event donors, table hosts, and sponsors, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding their support for the Brooklyn Bridge Park Gala, Women’s Lunch, and other fundraising initiatives.

- Identify and qualify promising individual donors through events and coordinate with the Director of Individual Giving on opportunities for deeper engagement.

- Partner with the Corporate Relations and Foundation Manager on event sponsorship outreach and stewardship.

Fundraising Events

- Manage the internal fundraising operation for the Brooklyn Bridge Park Gala, Women’s Lunch, and other fundraising and cultivation events.

- Track event solicitations, sponsorships, table and ticket commitments, payments, pledges, and outstanding balances, and prepare regular revenue reports and fundraising updates.

- Coordinate solicitation lists, assignments, fundraising materials, and follow-up for staff, Board members, and volunteer leaders.

- Support event committees in partnership with the Chief Advancement Officer, including meeting coordination, fundraising updates, assignments, and follow-up.

- Serve as a key point of contact for event donors and sponsors, providing responsive and thoughtful support throughout the event cycle.

- Manage fundraising and event registration platforms, ensuring donor, sponsorship, ticket, table, and payment records are complete and accurate.

- Oversee pledge fulfillment, sponsor benefits, donor recognition, listings, and post-event acknowledgments.

- Coordinate accurate guest, donor, seating, and recognition information with external event planning partners.

Advancement Operations

- Serve as the primary administrator for the Conservancy’s donor database, ensuring accurate, consistent, and confidential donor and prospect records.

- Maintain clear data standards and procedures that support accurate and efficient fundraising operations.

- Support the Advancement team with gift processing, pledge tracking, acknowledgments, tax receipts, and related donor documentation.

- Partner with Finance to reconcile contributions, pledges, event revenue, and fundraising records.

Qualifications:

- Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, advancement or development operations, special events, or a related field.

- Demonstrated experience cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors or sponsors.

- Experience managing the fundraising and donor-relations side of benefit events, including sponsorships, ticket and table commitments, pledge fulfillment, and donor recognition.

- Experience managing donor databases, gift processing, pledge tracking, acknowledgments, reporting, and data integrity; experience with Bloomerang is strongly preferred.

- Experience with fundraising and event registration platforms; knowledge of OneCause or a similar system is preferred.

- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and workstreams independently.

- Excellent attention to detail and a demonstrated commitment to accuracy, follow-through, and strong donor service.

- Strong financial and analytical skills, including experience with revenue tracking, reporting, and reconciliation.

- Clear and engaging written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence and judgment to work effectively with donors, sponsors, Board members, colleagues, and external partners.

- Ability to handle confidential donor, financial, and organizational information with discretion.

- Curiosity about emerging technology and an interest in exploring thoughtful, responsible uses of AI to strengthen fundraising operations, donor engagement, and team efficiency.

- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for fundraising events and donor activities.

- A collaborative, resourceful, and solution-oriented approach to the work.
